Mezon 120 Lite BEC or WR BEC for G500?
Next question:
Is the Mezon BEC sufficient for Goblin 500? (Hitec 7245MH cyclic - Savox 2272MG tail) Currently running a WR mini @ 7.4v. Likely going to run Mini Vbar Governor so no room for extra wires.

With servos that have a relatively low current draw I'd personally be comfortable with it. One way to find out!

If I ever get my DS-16 I will be using the 120 Lite BEC in my G500. I am very confident that it will provide ample power to the servos and RX.

Mezon 120 Lite BEC or WR BEC for G500?
The Mezon can still be used with an external gov in fast response mode. The only difference is you have to use an aftermarket phase/rpm sensor. The built in one just makes it simpler but the traditional method still works.

The 120 should have taller cooling fins. Double check the specs to be sure. Either way, Goblins have very poor ventilation. Full size Mezons are better suited for Goblins IMHO.

Logging shows a max Amp spike for the Mezon 120 BEC of 2.1A running Align DS515 on cyclic and BLS251 on the tail, all at 6V. Plenty happy with that.

Bout the same on mine, Hyperion DH16s and a HBL980 @ 8V. The G500 does not really need huge current on servos, specially those at 8V.

Using the lite. As per my PM to you, temps haven't got above 46 C. This is using a 4020-1390 and 16T pinion at 2700 RPM. PWM seems to be in the 90s most of the time.

The Mezon lite and "normal" Mezon are exactly the same as far as the electronics. The only difference between them, beside the size, is the "wrapping" the lite not having a hard shell but a heat shrink and having a smaller heat sink not in its size but in its usable surface for heat dissipation because of the shrink wrap covering part of it. The lite has no RPM lead.

The Lite also has a weaker BEC at 8A.

It's a killer ESC though, I love both my 120 Lite and 130HV on my Goblins, they really work very well.
I really hope there will be a physically smaller line again, with telemetry, that I can use on 450 size helis.

so heres the big question
with running on 6s and the same load.. will the 120 lite run cooler then the 90 lite in the same application? I would assume so but if the heat sink is similar between the 2 maybe not? |

Mezon 120 Lite BEC or WR BEC for G500?
No tellin till you try it as these are all faitky new to the market. The 90 is rated for 12S. The 120 is not. The 120 has larger cooling fins....

Mezon 120 Lite BEC or WR BEC for G500?
I am seeing spikes of 139A on my G500 but average draw under 50A. I don't think there'd be a significant difference in temps between the two. No 90A plus ESC should have temp issues if your correctly geared. When I was overgeared (18T, 1390kv, 2600RPM) my Koby would come down hotter than my Scorpion. As soon as I changed to the 16T it was only slightly warm.
