Is the 700 a belt drive or is it a belt to TT drive?

Align doesn't address it at all.
Best way around is Compass with the Delrin links that can flex enough to avoid the issue altogether.
The flex also seems to allow phasing to shift some which some believe is why the Compass heads/heli's feel the way they do.

The 600 SX bearing support looks like one piece. As in how does it allow for different pinion choices?
New tail hub sounds good, I assume it address' the "weak" grip bolt issues.

I'm not loving the looks of the new counterbearing on the SX. To me, it looks like yet another bad design like that on the 500/600 CF chassis. But who knows, since the photos don't show much.

Otherwise, I really want the other upgrade parts for my 600.

Logo 700 looks really nice and does appear to share some parts with the XX. I really want one but it will have to wait till next year.

Q: "Is the 700 a belt drive or is it a belt to TT drive?"

A: The 700 XXtreme uses the same front tail drive system as the XXtreme 800 (same tail gearbox as well).

Q: "What are Team Mikado going to be flying at the various events this year??"

A: I can only speak for Kyle. But Mikado doesn't dictate which of their models each team pilots must fly.

Kyle is planning on competing at all competitions in 2012 with the XXtreme 700.

Q: "The 600 SX bearing support looks like one piece. As in how does it allow for different pinion choices?"

A: It is not one piece, and does allow for pinion adjustments.

Q: "New tail hub sounds good, I assume it address' the "weak" grip bolt issues."

A: The new tail hub is larger and accommodates 3mm bolts.

Comment: "Looks like a Jive 120HV+ with a gold new egg CPU heat sink."

Your are correct. Kyle has been flying the XXtreme 700 for awhile now, and has one machine equipped with the Jive 120, and another machine equipped with the Scorpion 130.

We have been flying 12S packs in both 4500mah and 5100mah capacities. Both work well, and will just depend on pilot preference.

G'day Dave,

Given your loose association with Kontronik, I was wondering if you've had a chance to "play" with any of the new Kontronik gear (esp. Kosmik ESC's and Pyro motors) on either of the Xxtreme models?

I hope so as I was looking forward to end of March/early April for these products.

Thanks,

Jays

I'm happy for Dave that he finally gets to tell us stuff.

I'm sure tomorrow we'll see the complaining that there's no release date, and that parts will be expensive, and that they didn't change the most important thing, and speculation on price, and all that stuff.

Today's great though...

Oh, here's my question: I assume the 700 will be available without a power system, but is there anything interesting by way of bundling in the kit?
