My tail bet pulley was damaged in a similar way. I had a screw too tight and the pulley couldn't spin.

Update:

I have received the new version of the pitch arm holder from Infinity. It is indeed adjustable up/down a little bit. The hole for the mounting bolt to attach it to the case is now a short "slot".

I havent installed it yet since my modification is working fine, but for anyone concerned about the alignment/binding issues with the tail case, its now fixed.

This was my problem as well. I didn't realize I overtightened it.

It seems Infinity hobby has come with some more goodies to the protos.
Some of them are definately interesting, as the CNC tail pulley (much cheaper than the duzzi one) and the guide belt pulleys.
I don't know it they have come out just now, or if I missed it over time...

hi,

i have 3 of 4 pulleys from duzy.
check out, what the 4. did with the pinion...

it was a heavy crash, if the pulley would have been plastic, the pinion had survived...

That must have been a very ugly crash. I thought the belt would never damage the pinion...
For some time, I've been tempted on the metal grips for the Protos, but the stock ones are so cheap and work so well...

I have had crashes so far that took out 4 frames and I'm still on the original pulley and guides, from the _original_ owner I bought the heli from. What's wrong with the plastic pulley and guides?

Nothing, I guess...
I would believe that the CNC pulley and guides track better (the pulley isn't really round, which could cause tail vibrations), but as you said, there is nothing wrong with them. They just work.
It's a bling vs stock issue...

Hi Ecaf and Wespen,

Sorry to bring this old thread up again.

I just bought the Tail CNC combo from Infinity.

I am haviing some issues installing the pitch lever (C-shape) into the "pillars" Do I need to shorten a tad of the original tubing that goes into the bearings?

Even if I shorten it a bit.. I am still seeing binding issues with when the screw is tightened.
Looking at the picture... it seems like the bearing is "sunken" into the hole. Is this an issue??

Thanks!

Erwin

I had the same problem but it has been working fine now for months and is smooth.

First, make sure the U bracket is flipped the optimal way. It must be absolutely square with the arm after everything is installed, if it is not, you'll never get it to move smoothly. The bolt hole for it has a little slot and my position was the maximum one end of that slot.

Second, the tubing did, on mine, keep the U away from rubbing anywhere. But I had to open the U a bit with a tool. Bend it, basically.

I just light sanded the tubing to make it an easy fit.
I tightened the screw until it started to bind, then back it up a bit.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you all have the same problem of the bearing not being flushed with the surface? If you look at my attached picture in my previous posts, you can see the problem. This only happens to one side of of the 2 bearings in the tail pitch lever.

Is this normal?
Thanks!

Default Update

Hi all,

Just wanted to update all. I emailed my issue to Infinity and they sent me another pitch lever arm, together with the bushing immediately. Everything fits perfect now. No rubbing or bining whatsoever.

Great support from Infinity!
