Default What setup is everyone going to use?

I'm wondering what everyone will be putting in their trex500. I was thinking something along these lines...

-jr3400g on cyclic @6V
-spartan gyro with 3400g on tail....But I have a spare 611...I wonder if it would make it too heavy??
( I do alot of fast backwards so best tail setup is important to me)
-stock motor and esc
-futaba 146ip
-flightpower 3s 2170 x 2 in series...might go for a higher volt setup later on...7s or 8s with a jazz 55

I notice a few people going with AR7000. Seems like the AR6200 would be the way to go on a 500. Smaller, lighter, and still full range. Come to think of it I would think even a 6100 would work since it's not flying to far away.

Bob,

I see you mentioned the FlightPower EvoLite 2500 3S packs. Will they have enough punch for the 500?

I have two of these packs for my 450, and are pretty impressed thus far. I want to get another two, but if they are not up to it I would rather consider buying Evo25s.

JR DS362 Cyclic
GY401 & S9254 Stepdown reg Tail (would love to try a 6100T)
Jazz 55-10-32
3 amp BEC 6V
JR R77S Rx
Maybe a medusa Motor on 8S (weight may be the issue)
2 x TP 4S 2100Prolites in SERIES.

All of this (except motor) I have in my 3/H DX 500 and it will get stripped down the second I click on the "Pay Now" button.

Stock motor/ESC
6s setup
9650s on the Cyclic (have many spares at home)
Considering Logictech 6100 or 401 (have to take it off one of my other helis though.
Any available spektrum receiver

(I'm using an AR6000 on my Lepton no problems for a year! AR6200 is a good balance between size and extra remote receiver)

Default Jazz 80-

Believe the jazz 80 has built-in BEC..............would this eliminate the need for a separate BEC???? I am running the 35 align ESC in my 450 thru the built-in BEC and it works perfectly running 3400 on the tail and 3 285 jr servos.

The Jazz 80-6-18 has a 4A BEC.
The biggest problem is that they are just 5.2V, I think. Most servos these days are good for 6V, better for speed and power.

Medusa 36-50-1600
Jeti Spin 66
Flight Power 6s 2500
Logictech 6100
AR7000
HS - 225MG

I hope a 36mm can will fit. If not I can make it.
Jeti Spin controllers have switch mode BEC's up to 5 amps peak 3 amps continuous.
Hope Flight Power starts making 2500's in 6s.
The 6100 should be rock solid on the 500 with plenty of fine- tune adjustments.
AR7000 is only 4g heavier than AR6200 plus I already have one.
I would get the 5245mg digitals but they are another $20 each.
