Default A few OHB questions

I would like to attend the OHB this year with my wife. I will be coming to Orlando via air (from Canada), and have a few questions I'm hoping to get answered:

1) What is a good hotel near the fly site, I would like to book if possible?
2) How is travel with a heli partially disassembled and padded in a suit case? Any issues with customs or air travel I should be aware of (ie: lipos allowed)? And if I bring a nitro heli, is it possible to purchase fuel at a LHS near the fly site or perhaps even at the fly site?
3) Do I need to register as a pilot in advance?

Thanks.

Bryan

Hey Brian

visit the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/orlandoblowout

the hotels are listed and there is a link to pre-register if you like

pre-registration is not mandatory but you get free goodies if you do, like a custom made t-shirt. You're also eligible for prizes that will only be awarded to pre-registered pilots.

lots of folks fly with their models, most use golf club cases or the large SKB cases

If the same as last year ExperienceRC will be at the field with their mobile heli shop and should have nitro.

Experience RC will indeed be onsite as OHB's exclusive retailer. If you haven't seen it, they bring just about an entire hobby store in an 18 wheeler!!!!

There will also be more manufacturers onsite in the history of the event!!! There may be some new product announcements at the event as well.

I am in, looking forward to another great OHB event, seeing friends and flying there. I will bring something for the Toys for Tots donation collection. See you there on Friday and Saturday! Andy

Is there an admission fee or parking fee for spectators?

we ask that spectators bring a new sealed toy that we can donate to the Toys for Tots program in Orlando. Or a cash donation usually about $10 per car which we then donate to Toys for Tots

Either way its a one time per weekend donation, we issue a donation receipt that is good for admission anytime after that.

All the donations go to a good cause. Lots of kids go without toys at christmas, your donation helps a local child enjoy christmas.

Very excited for this event! Have a new ESC and heli to try. Will anyone that is going have a Kontronik Progdisk with them I could use to ramp up my BEC voltage? Hard to purchase one when I only plan to use it once.

Likely the Kontronik or helidirect booth's could help you out with this ;-)

I'm bringing a new Snergy E7 with a DJI WooKong H system on it. If there is anyone that knows about setting it up I would really appreciate talking to them and getting some help. See you all there, Andy Levy
