This is a canopy i had on my JR Ergo, painted it the same time as we squirted GJive back in 96-97, was doing a bunch of the shredded look then. This is a fiberglass canopy painted with dupont chroma base white, then dusted with pearl, masked off and sprayed with house of kolor true blue. airbrushed along the bottom of the shredded checkers with black to help it pop then coated it with a light coat of dupont chroma clear. This is the samematerial you see on the aircraft i have attached everywhere, it is also what dupont certified auto body shops put on your car, urethane. Likes to get orange peely cause of being a high solids clear, but i'm in California and that's what they make us use

It now sits on a e-converted JR Voyager ccpm frame with all the parts off the ergo, was almost a direct replacement for the ergo that had all the mixing arms and was g-10, i opted for the plastic frame with ccpm

At this angle, you can see the texture i tried to explain on the Pantera canopy with one coat. I sand that with 600 and clear it again, that all goes away

I just realized my attachments were too big earlier and didn't all show up, here are more

DUDE! That MD530 looks TITS! Awesome job!

I've always wanted to try my hand at painting, but I must admit that I'm a little intimidated by awesome paint jobs like that... freakin' sweet, man!

That machine was brought to us from Hawaii in a sea tainer, we painted it and put leather interior in then put it back in the tainer and sent it over to England. I see it all over the scale forums all the time being painted on models, gonna put that patern on a trex lid, still haven't decided the blue and silver or maybe blue and yellow.

I realy like the 900's. That guy designs golf courses and uses that thing like a golf cart to get from course to course with his buddies. Must be nice to have money

I got into painting cars while was still in High School. Worked auto body, went into custom auto body chopping tops, suicide doors and just general cleam up on 1940 and older cars. From there went into custom paint and my first helicopter i ever sprayed was that San Diego Sherriff machine.

Funkey/Century has copied several of my paint jobs, Charlie Pappa, and the SD sherriff MD 500 were both done by us.

the cold weather appears to have made the "Faskolor" very easy to remove while wiping down after today's 4 flights... there again i didnt even fathom the flame treatment when i painted it .. (use to "flash" the corogated plastic used for r/c combat planes) figured ill try it again and flame first then clear it when im done... your work is very nice... im sorry to hear about your injury's...

I wasn't taking the name, helipainter, to be as literal as it is! Those full scale helis look great.

Dude...

When the time comes for me to start flying in an FAI fuse, I'm totally sending it to you!!! I'm thinking a pearl white base with day-glo orange, silver shadow rip/tear graphics like you're doing on this last batch... Cover it in super-thick clear so it always looks wet, and a CF windscreen... I'm getting a heli-chubby just thinking about it!

Thanks...I went thru the stock canopy painting and that was a real mess...went thru a white 600n canopy painting and that was another failure when i was adding stickers...this time i just found a yellow 600n trimmed it and put some decals on it and wow ...no painting for me anymore...haha..glad you like it...

Thats what I am hoping for, The black boom will blend into suroundings, I don't think the green will. I just did it last night. Got the Idea from Gus, He paints his with white, and I like how they stand out.
