congrats on your new heli .... if looking extra batts I recently picked up some turnigy 160mah 25-40c batts from ebay 6 batts plus balance charge cable for 20.00 they work great sofar .
.
if you decide to mod it .. the most useful mods Ive found are to place canopy grommets in between the ends of the swash plate arms and the servo links.
.
for more speed you can shorten the fly bar . by cutting the plastic weights off the tips ..( cut on the line between the plastic tip and metal weight.) or alternatively install a Blade Scout cx flybar .. part # BLH2719 ... it will have the same affect and can be trimmed to gain more speed . But the heli will become unstable in turns if the fly bar is lightened to much .

and the micro helli swash plate is a great add-on . I do not recommend buying all the other hopups and alloy stuff .. seems to be a waste of time n money . I currently have all of the alloy stuff except the alloy outer shaft on my mcx2 .. and now things tend to break allot easier than when all was stock .

Default have fun!

Have fun, I have 2 mcx2's and a scout and some others . The scout and mcx2's are the only ones I can keep in the air long enough to wear down a battery. Don

If you decide to go with aftermarket batteries, when you install them make sure it does not hit the servo gears when you slide it in the tray.
I learned the hard way.

With the Nano Tech batteries you may need to put a canopy grommet on each pin of the landing skids to get clearance:

No battery, no grommet:

With the stock eflite battery, notice how little clearance there is between the top of the skids and the top main rotor shaft. I had to trim my shaft by 1mm as it was left too long from the factory, and binding with the stock battery.

Nano tech battery, no clearance at all, and until I realised what was going on I was getting despondent by that lack of performance and crippled flight times.

I've used red rubber spacers so it's clearer, but the canopy grommets work fine:

The other thing is to keep your flight times down and allow the motors to cool, otherwise you'll quickly need to replace the frame as it tends to warp when the motors get too hot.

Enjoy your Helicopter,

B
