Default Anyone try an Enya #3

So, I decided to change my glow plug (because it was the original plug) didn't have an OS #8 so put in an Enya #3 and suddenly the machine comes to life... now actually I changed all the fuel tubing at the same time but I was surprised at how well the little .37 ran after I did both of those!

I also put on some Spinblades 465mm 3D and reduced the pitch to 11.8-12 ish deg and the thing was awesome!! It was about 50F here at the time so some of the power may have been due to the cold but it was soo fun!!! I'm not sure what made the difference but I like it. Don't hesitate to try the Enya #3. Also this was on Powermaster 30%.

My dad was a scale competitor F4C, specialist in multi engines with nitro engines of course ... We used Enya 3 for years then in the 2000 the quality control on those spark plugs somewhat changed I guess and we had a bunch of Enya 3 not working properly, we then switched to OS8. I was competiting in F3A pattern and on YS engines I used to play a bit with Enya 3 until we had the fantastic OSF.
Glad you enjoy the Enya3 .... when the spark plug was good it was better than OS8.
Cheers

IMO enya plugs are better than the others,
I'm running byrons RR.
I change the plugs with different nitro.
30% = enya 5 or OS10 if temp is above 40F
22% = enya 4 or OS8 20F-40F
15% = enya 3 or OS8 below 20F

thats what I'm doing, might not work for everyone
Found that the high nitro content and the HOT enya 3 will give low life for the plug,
altho, my plugs don't really get that old, I kill them from hydro lock or a crash, LOL.

forgot to add, sometimes with the OS37 motor, I have a hard time with the plug seal, sometimes it dont seal good, the washer is sloppy on the plug and might not sit correctly.
so if there is a starting problem, or it's lean for no reason, might be the plug gasket,

looking at the part of the plug where it seats on the head you will see the plug is cut deep and the gasket can just slop around on there,

I have 4 OS37's, it don't happen all the time,

Matt, your motor could have been lean that day from the gasket being off center, just something to look out for.

the hot plug with high nitro aka less ethnol will make less torque. ( I think )

Good info Matt on the Enya. I have always had good luck with them in my YS motors. I still have a spare Enya #3 in my box, I'll have to give it a try.

Do you know where to get the Spin 465 from, I have looked everywhere for a set.

guessing you mean these...

They come in stock here http://www.rchelicanada.com/spinblad...0mm-p3583.html but you need to be quick. They are a popular size for the Gaui X4ii and NX4.
