Default Will the original 4 button charger please stand up?

I've been reading quite a few threads about chargers lately. It appears most are recommending the 306B, which appears to be yet another variation of the 4 button charger. I see SkyRC taking the time to have hologram codes on their "Original" B6, however it seems like that type of charger was around before SkyRC, either with the same exact firmware or a clone of it. The interface is TERRIBLE,there has to be a reason others are using the exact same screen and UI.

What's the history behind these 4-button chargers?

I think that the lack of response may be due to the lack of info in your question.

A 306B is I think an iCharger, which is a fairly high powered 1000W / 30A charger that requires a 24V PSU to develop max power, and can charge large lipos very quickly.

The only B6 (IMax) I know of is a copy the original Bantam BC-6, which was a low power 50W AC/DC charger that was only good a a single 3s lipo.

The number of buttons is sort of irrelevant I think (I think that most chargers only have 4-6 buttons). These two chargers mentioned are in completely different classes. The only similarity is that they both have 4 buttons.

I am not sure what the question is ?

RIght, and the Imax B6 can charge 6s. My assertion is that chargers like the 306b seem to have eerily similar user interfaces. I'm not doubting the internals are different but I am suspect of the software.

Yes, the B6 can charge 6s, but VERY slowly (unless you have 450 sized 1300mAh 6s). It can only muster 50W, so 50W / 25.2V = ±2A, so a 5000mAh 6s will take about 2½ hours to charge, so it isn't really a 6s charger. A 306, on the other hand, can charge a 6s at 1000W / 25.2V = 40A, so limited to 30A, which will charge a single 5000mAh 6s lipo in about 10 minutes.

I can't comment on the similarity of the interfaces, but I can tell you that B6 was around 7 or 8 years ago, whereas iChargers only started arriving (that I know of) a couple of years after that, and the 306 only a few years ago.

The chargers I have used regularly, Bantam BC-6 and Hyperion DUO II both have similar interfaces - I think that most small 2 line LCD screen chargers with "4 buttons" appear to have similar interfaces for getting settings done.
