Default HB800 ESC initialization problem

I have a HobbyMate HB800 v2 on my trex 450 using a Spektrum DX8.

I have setup the FBL unit and everything is working fine, except the throttle channel, motor will not spool up.

I am using a spektrum satellite receiver which as been bound using the HB800. When I plug in the lipo, I get initial beeps from the ESC but it does not arm, and HB800 initialized fine. ESC is a new towerpro 40A.

If i connect ESC to another receiver on another heli it initialized fine.

I then changed the setup on the 450 by using a full spektrum receiver (and changed receiver type on HB800) and that works fine. ESC and HB800 initialize fine and throttle is working.

I must be doing something wrong on the sat setup, but what?

Can anyone help?

I'd be happy to help but my hb800 won't even finish initializing. Second ring of lights go in a circle for a long time then I get 4 red lights. Can't enter menus. Been scouring the forums all morning looking for answers.

I think I got what payed for.

Have you set your throttle range? Set your normal throttle curve in your TX to a linear curve first (0,25,50,75,100). Make sure you have throttle trim centered and no subtrim for throttle. Then turn on your TX and move the throttle stick all the way up to 100%. Plug in the battery. I'm not sure what the exact procedure for that particular ESC is, so look it up online if there's a manual to download. But, usually for most ESC's you'll get a couple of tones, and then a series of tones. For my YEP ESC I move the throttle stick back to 0% before the tones stop, or it enters program mode. Then it will proceed on through the normal initialization and arm.
