I have castle lite 50 with the internal BEC set at 5.5v.
I use 5.5 because there were reports of 6v being to much for the 5084.
I'm pretty sure I had read that the Hitec folks recommended 5.5v

Hmmm. I wonder how they determined it was too much? I check my motor, ESC, batt, and tail servo after every hard flight to make sure they're not getting warm, and the tail servo has always been cool or ambient temp.

I really don't recall the details... but for the type of flying I do, 5.5 volts suits me just fine anyway.

look over on the Hitec servo support forum. Just search on 5084.

Like most of this stuff, everything seems pretty inconclusive if you ask me.

If your servo is running cool, I think you are ok (this is just IMHO!).

Part of the reason may be the extremely smooth Furion 450 tail, and perhaps the built-in Chinese weights giving a light servo load.

Servo heating is coming from the load and the current flowing, so maybe a reduced load gives a good 6V tolerance.

On the other hand, running a heli with a stiff tail setup and high aerodynamic loads, not to mention one that has a fair amount of vibration--which might cause the gyro to really move the servo--- might burn up the 5084 at 6V.

Again, just my opinion.

That all makes perfect sense to me. Still I run mine at 5.5... don't really need the little extra that 6v would give.
