I am a new heli pilot. In Phoenix I have occasionally gotten a reasonable funnel happening, but was not quite sure how I got there. If I try to do one I often wind up with a funnel that walks across the field one direction or another. Your video clarifies it immensely. Thanks, great presentation! I hope you will be doing more of the beginner series you have planned.

Regards,
Gord

Just wanted to thank you again RaZa for all of your video tutorials and instruction. As many have mentioned before, some of these maneuvers take time and lots of practice.

I first discovered your videos about 9 months ago. I'm now finally able to perform stationary continuous half-piro flips! I can also do the first half of a full piro flip with relative ease but the second half is still pretty ugly and needs more work.

I also got a little bit of extra help from Bert Kammerer's SmackTalkRC video series but give more credit to your instruction in learning half-piro flips.

If anyone out there has nailed all the basic prerequisites and is still having trouble, they might want to check out Bert's video. The video download is $1.89 but is a decent value IMO.

Default RC Helicopter Flight School in Los Angeles

Hi Everybody
I live in Hollywood, California. I am new in the RC helicopter world and I just purchased a new Trex 500ESP with a Spektrum DX6i radio control. Does anyone knows any RC Heli Flight School around Los Angeles, CA?
I really appreciate any feed back you may have.
Thanks

I'm not sure about flight schools but you could always meet people by introducing yourself in the New Members section.

Or search in IRCHA's website for pilots in Los Angeles, CA who are registered in the Pilot Proficiency Program.
http://www.ircha.org/index.php?pr=Pit_Crew_Search

It looks like there are 2 pilots registered in LA.

Thank you RaZa,

Here's another vid that demonstrates the piro flip.
Carl Groover breaks it up into individual moves. Not the best quality video but content is helpful.

Default Can't play: RĒzĒ Flight School Video Lessons

I am trying to view a training video in: How-To: RĒzĒ Flight School Video Lessons. which is the first item in the RC Helicopter Flight School section. But when I click the play arrow, it says that it is private. Am I doing something wrong or is it really only for certain members.

Thanks from a real newbie!

The person who made the video left HeliFreak recently and made his videos private. None of us can see them.

Well, first I will say it's a shame it ended how it ended and I wish we will see his tutorials again.

That said, the key element of his vids was to break each maneuver down to components. All in all the maneuvers might be more than a handful but by dividing and conquering, they become accessible.

Just gonna use one as an example. The piro flip. The key was to break it down to quarter flips, get them down clean. First component was quarter flips and at each quarter flip (that is, upright, knife edge, inverted, knife edge, add piro, either a 90* or 180* or whatever you want really) before continuing to the next quarter flip.

Then go gradually towards smooth continuity on both flip and piro.

Divide and conquer. That is something we can do. All respect to his vids, they were great but we can all divide and conquer like that, all it takes is someone to say it can be done, which he did. Get online, practice together, be each others judges, divide and conquer, split into components and learn.

Since his videos are now private, and no longer avail to us here, Should this thread not be archived to aliveate any futre confusion and questions as to where they are etc etc?

Atleast un-stickied?
