Default Having second thoughts on my frenzy, how much invested in yours?

Guys I have been going over trying to do a "budget build" but the numbers just don't look to great now that I have them down.

By the time I'm done I'll have as much invest in the frenzy as I would a trex600le super combo...

Heres the list so far
Frenzy $220 (already have)
Gyro futaba gy520 $120 (already have)
servos hyperions x 3 $144
Os 50sxh $170
BLS 251 $140
AR7100R $219
life battery $30
throttle servo $30
Blades $60
Muffler $60
total $1193

Trex 600 LE
$903
Engine $170
Muffler $60
Throttle servo $30
Reciever $99
total $1262

Is there anyway to cut the cost down?

you can replace the AR7100R to AR7000 and then use an ALign governor.
You can also replace the BLS251 with Align DS650. These changes will probably save you $120 - $150

Why are you figuring the receiver price in the Frenzy at 219, and the reciever price in the 'rex at 99?

You can also delete the governor all together. I've got three of them flying without governors.....my radio has three different throttle curves with seven points each.

the price difference in the reciever is for the govenors.
The 7100r for the frenzy

the align combo comes with a govenor so it doesn't need the 7100r just a basic reciever.

If I ditch the govenor and run the life batteries i wouldn't need a regulator right? Just a single step down for the gyro?

im running a 2s 2200 mah lipo to a b6t then straight to the rx hyperion servos will take about 6.6 volts before they get to twitchy and they get damaged.just get the algin 2-in-1 and set up the throttle curves and use the programable mixes in your dx7,i take it you got a x7 from the rx you choose, i have a gov on one of my 50;s and on the other no gov and they both will rip the paint off the conopys.fly it like you stole it the frenzy will take the beating and ask for more, im still flying the stock parts ,minus the kbdd tail blades and paddles and a trex 600 flybar. and i have the trex 600le and personaly i like the frenzy better, but its your choice.
