John, the more I look at my files the more I think the RPM drop is normal and I think my setup is correct. I will however send my KO LOG files for your review too....RPM drops by max 100...80% TC...the only crap part is...i realised im mistaking my max Amps......its actually 240A....kosmik 160 seems to be at its limit!

The temperature graph is a major concern. I will send the file to kontronik to see what they think. Any way this has been bothering me.

I thought I would share these pictures with you guys.

The below pics are some modifications Captain Tarr has made to his Diabolo S No 45. As stated before, he is one highly talented and skilled RC pilot with probably over 35 years of experience in both RC and the real deal(Captain for 777). Highly respectable and Glad to be able to call him a good friend of mine.

Obviously there is a bit of tension who's SD is going to be the fastest but its going to be an exciting even...well provided that he finishes tinkering with his SD.

The back Kosmik resting "tube" plate was one part of the design that I was not too impressed with either, however I do not have the machinery nor the developed skill set to be able to do what he has done below. I'm not sure what the effect of the modification will be to the structural support however I think it should be zero to none. The biggest reason to the change IMO was to avoid any stripping of the thread in the plastic tube and thus DT inserted a metal brass threaded tube instead...very nicely done.

Next up, DT has been watching my SD very very close to see where he can make space and esthetic improvements. Well the biggest space saving can be done with regards to your motor mounting/connections. With Him running the Pyro 850-50 space is at its lowest... We talked about it, I showed him the Avant upgrades that have been released and one morning I received the blow pictures. Basically he took some copper inserts and moulded them to suite and saved him self 60 USD shipping and another 30 USD for the Avant connections. I must say I was seriously Impressed. I have asked him to please make 3 connections for me as well, so I'm hoping to get a similiar look to my SD. I will keep you guys updated on any other improvements that he will be doing, lets just say he loves to tinker...more than any one I know....DT never does a thing remotely half...never!! Well done DT

Looks really good William!

In the last week I've wasted 3 sets of motor connectors trying to establish a path in the tight fitting confines an elegant layout dictates. Someone hopefully, maybe Kontronik? should come up with a purchasable set that removes this chore for those who don't have the necessary machining equipment to make this possibly enjoyable.

What tail blades is everyone using?
I was flying #6 today in a heavy cross wind 15+ mph cross wind higher gusts not favorable conditions but sky was nice. The heli pushed very far out; it is a weather vane/sail, while trying to get the heli closer at the end of the flight I had fight to turn into the wind and fly towards myself. So what blades are you using and how high do you have your tail gain?

I use 95s on the tail - I have been impressed by the resistance to crosswind and there has been much less weather vaning than I anticipated - I have noticed however a couple of tail blow outs recently and have found the tail belt to be quite slack with the trensioner resting on its stop - will tension up the belt to see if this helps.

I am. TP 7S 5000. Perfect fit too and excellent shift of CoG towards the nose for speed flights.

I had the same problem with the wires from my 4535 - just drilled the terminals out to 1/8" and was able to solder them in no problems

Been hearing a lot lately about pyro motors and the varnish on the leads. Who has removed the varnish who has not, did you shorten your leads? Apparently if the varnish is not removed before soldering ends it can play havoc with voltage, amp, wattage drop....and the motor will not perform.

you have to remove the coating on any motors leads where the wire that is wound on the motor comes out and is not soldered to another wire to come out. This is common practice on most of the large wire wind motors.

you have to strip the 2 individual wires before you solder but its really not too hard to remove.
