Default Gearing

I have been using mr mels hs calc to try different gearing options. I am assuming the e6/e7 116t main will fit the e5. Please correct me if I am wrong. I downloaded the manual for the e5 to read it a few times before the kit arrives. I didn't see a parts list with part numbers unless I missed it. I am planning on running 12cell with my existing 3300mah packs to keep some of the costs down on this build.

So I am planning on the scorpion 560kv motor, 120hv castle esc, wr super bec, sk540, savox servos, and I planned on the 4.5:1 tail gearing.

I don't have the part numbers for the tail gearing or the 116t main. Assuming it fits the e5, please correct me if I am wrong. I am also assuming the 12t pinion is the same mod for the 119t main as the 116t main. Again please correct me if I am assuming wrong.

Like I said I can't find the part numbers so could someone give them to me or better yet point me to where I look to find them.

Thanks
James

Hello!

A couple of things:

The 119 gear does not have the same helical pitch so you cannot use the standard e7 main gear or pinion interchangeably. The e7se gear is interchangeable with e5.

The part numbers are labeled on the parts throughout the manual as the parts are installed.

To do the 4.5:1 tail ratio you will need the e7 12t spur and matching 54t auto rotation spur gears. I don't have the part numbers in front of me now I will add those when I get to work.

Thanks. So e7se main and pinion to match. I am going to take another look to see which is easier to achieve the target hs zone I want of 2200-2350 as I plan on stretching it the first time it decides it is hungry for some dirt (we all know what goes up eventually comes down violently). I might be able to get by with stock main gear and a different pinion or motor kv. I will play with mels hs calc some more after work. I just want to have gearing worked out before having it shipped to avoid first, extra shipping charges, second, having to pull everything out after building it.

Digger, you should be able to achieve that with a 13T pinion on the stock E5 gearing with a HKIII-4035-530 motor. It would eliminate the need to switch the main gear.

You may want to switch the tail gear ratio to speed it up.

560kv 119t main (stock main I believe) with13t pinion gives 2300hs which will work. A 750mx motor on 13t pinion is also an option according to motor specs and mels hs calc.

The motor you mentioned looks the best in the hs calc. 2200-2300hs for best to ok performance.
