Default tail rebound issue 4.0

i have a 600 pro efl dfc with 3.0 and a fusion 12s with 4.0. 3.0 pro is fine with no issues i fly the sh!t out it. now the fusion which is pretty much a clone of my pro flys okay but it doesnt matter if its L/R rudder input i get like 2 rebounds from either side. i just set it up last night and was curios as to what setting do i need to change? amount of gyro gain has no difference on it.

Hey.

Delay used to be the trick with the older firmwares, but V4 is demanding a different approach.

I've been chasing this rebound issue for a few weeks now and after reading various other fliers experiences the trick seems to be;

1. Remove all delay. Connect the 3GX to your PC and go to the settings display tab, then into the gyro parameter menu on the 3GX (press and hold the set button) and scroll to the delay led.
Flick the rudder stick in the direction of delay type you're after, eg. small or large heli delay, the value shown on screen will go to zero, now leave the 3GX to time out and reboot. This sets zero delay, if you press the 3GX button for some reason it doesn't remember/set zero.

2. Setup the tail to fly straight in rate mode. This is the key I think, as the tail I feel goes to centre following a piro manouver and then realises it has to add in pitch to hold a heading. By setting the right amount of tail pitch to counteract the torque in a hover, on releasing the rudder stick following a piro some tail control is already present to stop the yaw rotation.

The above, combined with a reduction in the tail lock gain value to 40 ~ 50% helps to remove the bounce present in V4.
Higher rotor speeds and thus tail speed/power also helps.

Thumbs up

Hi,
thank You for providing a way to use the 3GX with Firmware 4.0. IŽve had similar Problems with tail Rebound and the easy way out was downgrading to Firmware 3.1 (Probably IŽll try to check Your Setting procedure)

Hey Buddy.

You're very welcome.

In testing this appears to be the way to get the tail working better at present, it will be fixed I am sure along with the twitch, but in the interim V4 flies great once you have the tail dialled in.

Check tail rod length - rate mode, move in a hole on the servo horn, Rudder Locking Gain 40, delay to 0, increased the gyro gain - still there but much better on my 500. I'm going to try Rudder Locking Gain 30.
