Default Can a bad esc damage the 3 in 1 board?

I had an XP03 that had 2 fets blown. So I replaced all 6 fets with the correct N & P fets but upgraded ones that were recommended for the XP03. I set it up with a flash plug powered it up and it worked fine. The BLHeli software was able to connect to it and flash it to v11. So I connected to a nano 3 in 1 board was an easy and very tidy job. I've done this a few times now and have other BL nanos. Signal wire went well as did the wires to the 3 in 1.

After power up the esc armed the motor worked but one of the servos would not work I double checked all my soldering re flowed them they were and are fine but still no servo control. The power was going to the servo but it just wasn't responding to tx inputs anymore check with other servos in that port same response. And the initial servo worked fine in the other ports.

I checked the hole board it looks fine re flowed that servo plug no difference. Took esc off and put the original power plug back on same when fired up. Arms ok but one servo down.

Now this esc should be a good one as it has the upgraded fets on. But when it initially burnt out could it of damaged something else that in turn could damage the 3 in 1?

I want to try use this esc on a fresh 3 in 1 but don't want to risk another 3 in 1 for a 10$ Esc.

Can the esc do this? Or was it something else?

I really don't see how the ESC could ruin the servo circuitry on a main board since the ESC is only getting a throttle signal and power from the main board.

Phew! Thank you, that's what I thought but just wanted to make sure before I use the esc again. Don't want to mess another 3 in 1 up. Just can't see why it happened as the conversion went really well and smooth. Quick little solders all shiny and held well. I will try again with this esc and a new board and see... Gulp
