Disconnecting two motor wires while doing the setup is recommended, even if the motor won't spin while you're in the menu points, it's easy to forget to move the throttle stick down before you exit the menus which can cause a unintentional spoolup.

I just use throttle hold but always double check that it's on and the stick is down before exiting. Also constantly thinking about it and making sure I don't bump the tx and flip it back off by accident.

Unless you're supremely TH conscious, disconnecting the motor wires during setup is the way to go.

I go one step fuither and remove the blades as well. Safety first. Sometime's TH and removing blades is easier than trying to disconnect a motor wire if its tucked up under weird.
