Talking How to compete?!!

Hello,

I have a nano cpx and have mastered inverted hover, flips, and rolls. Now the question struck me how do I compete? I know I am not quite ready to compete but just thought id ask.
What do I need to know to attempt to compete?
What is the smallest size of heli you can use to compete?
Are there indoor competitions where I could fly a MCPX BL?
What are the classes you fly in (size, skill, etc.)?

I am thirteen so would fly in the junior class.

Separate question, how do I get sponsored?!

I don't compete but here are my 2 bits and guesses anyway:
Keep a close eye on the local clubs' event calendar, AMA can also be of help, and look for competitions, especially grass root level, being held. Rules and a list of set maneuvers should be available with the announcement.

There would be set maneuvers, free flight and possibly flight to music as well. For the set maneuvers, pick the required number of maneuvers from the list. You'll see the different maneuvers have different K factors which is a scores multiplier. Before you go out and pick the ones with the highest K, keep in mind you will score better doing lower K's good than doing higher K's not quite so good. Botch up a maneuver and the score will be zero so pick moves you feel confident you can pull off real good.

Start at grass root. For your own sake, this will give you experience much needed at higher levels. In some formats, you are allowed to start at pretty much any level but once you have entered that level you will not be allowed to go to a lower level later, if you find yourself outclassed.

I am not aware of any minimum size and in 3D, I'm not even sure if there are any upper limits. The rules that come with the announcement should tell you about any limitations.

Just a few thoughts and others might chime in with their experience. Anyway, good luck in the arena!
