Im about to buy a 700 any day now but I get somewhat annoyed about the fact that it is up to the customer to fix a problem that Align should have taken care of.

We have a little tendency of magnifying the size of a problem on these forums. Half of the issue is us just wanting to play with new upgrade parts. Clearly, all of the "insane" 3D by Lucas Riva and many others that you see on the web is done with the stock gear. In my case, I did once lose a few teeth (https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...6&#post1002696) but I thinking about it since, I may have weakened part of the gear during a pretty impressive hot start caused by a faulty governor (https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=91494).

There is no way I would suggest that you miss out on this great and affordable heli over this issue. I hope that this is helpful for putting things into perspective.

The 2nd Nitro 700 I built had a little more gear slop than I like so I stuck a -1 gear in it. Been trucking along fine and the mesh while a little tight when installing the gear is real smooth now. The first Nitro 700 I built and sold is still flying with the stock gear and doing fine too. It had a much better gear mesh than the 2nd one during assembly.

Fin, you can probably throw the -1 gear in yours and be good to go.

Yeah I would like to know of anyone using these Mod1 Microheli gears. I was tempted but after their disasterous attemp at the Mod .7 i decided to hold off.

Just put a -1 main gear on mine though and the mesh is perfect.

I running one in both my 700n and my 700e. The tooth shape on the plastic gear is not ideal and is a little rough feeling at first but they wear in very nicely. I'm using a Mod1.0 11 tooth pinion on my electric.

cbdane,

What headspeed do you get at 85% governed for the Microheli 1.0M gear and 11 tooth pinion? I'm ordering the exact same setup.

Thanks in advance.

Add me to the club. Stripped my main gear yesterday. I've seen the Align upgrade as 'coming soon' on readyheli for weeks now......

ya but only the main gear (115t). if i run that with the stock 20t pinion i'd have to run a 2600 headspeed to to stay in the powerband of the engine.

They carry the MicroHeli set, which is probably better anyway.

The align main gear is probably molded. The MicroHeli gear is CNC delrin.

I have the same problem .After I disassembled everything I noticed that one bearing was not loctite.I just put a bit of green loctite and now the vertical play is a bit less.
