Default RC Helicopter Richard training videos

I don't want to start a new thread each time I have a video, so I'll just put them in here from now on if nobody minds.

Been following on youtube. Keep up the good work

Question: Piro pogo's, I believe they're piro-flips but with collective input at upright / inverted when the disk is flat but it's hard to be certain.

Basically they're pirouetting up and down with a piro flip at the top.
So piro upright on the way up,
piro flip,
piro inverted on the way down,
reverse collective so piro inverted on the way up,
piro flip to upright at the top,
pirouetting upright to the bottom and repeat.

When it was a set manoeuvre there were rules about them being a minimum of 5 metres up and down.

It's a really difficult move. You have to correct the piro twice on the way down, 1st to go vertical onto the same spot, and 2nd to stop the drift from the 1st correction.

Thanks for watching the videos, I'll have to add piro pogos to the list

Hi Richard!

If possible, because of your experience, make a video about training from your point of view for those who want to improve and not start flying.

It seems like you are a guy who has already trained a lot on the simulator. You should probably still train a lot on the simulator.

I would like to know if you have or have had a training routine that you can share. Or with your experience, what would you do today to achieve improvements faster. What would you do differently when you were learning with the knowledge you have today?

I don't think I would change anything about how I'm learning. We all have our own path and experiences.

My personal learning tends to be around finding weaknesses or grey areas in my flying and focussing on those. It makes me a well-rounded pilot, but not a great one.

There's an excellent RCHN episode where Scott Graham talks about some of his journey and how to learn. He talks about finding weakness and getting round avoiding tendencies.

Defo worth a listen.

I've done a few demo videos on the Axe in the past, so this is a proper walkthrough on how to learn them, as well as reversals and circuits.

I'm looking into doing the Piro Pogo next and I'm looking for some info.

When was this first recognised as a manoeuvre?
And where does the reversal happen in the reversed version?

This is a super cool thing you have going on here! I almost never go on HeliFreak anymore, but I just logged on today and stumbled on this. Nice work!

Good to see people like yourself recognizing what Richard is doing.
His program is, while on another level, up there with "From tail-in to all 8s and funnels in 6 months".

Richard should be getting a ton more support with his videos.

Thanks, I appreciate that

I started on the Piro Pogo episode mentioned earlier, but as I got into explaining the 3 point flip at the top, it kind of turned into its own episode.

I guess Piro Pogos will after this one, and probably a lot shorter now

neXt online session planned for 8PM London time later. You can join the session, join the voice chat or just watch and chat.

It's a bit of an experiment and might be a complete fiasco, but it's worth trying

A recent request. Turn your volume down, I think I got this one a bit loud somehow.

This volume level is much better Richard. I find it quite difficult to hear you without a silent background otherwise. Better too loud than too soft. Can always turn it down but can't turn it up beyond 100%. Thanks!
