Default esc mounting

Hi. I mounted my yge 160hv to my xxtreme using nylon bolts and made the mounting posts from the body of a pen.the inside diameter is large so I used fuel tubbing to fill the space which fit perfect and the nylon bolts fit perfect thru the tubbing. I'm hoping the nylon bolts shear in a crash instead of breaking the ESC board..and maybe the plastic pen body and fuel tubbing absorb any vibrations.

Every crash is different of course.

I also thought the plastic bolts would break before the tab. Not so much.
I guess I've seen the esc's with all 3 sheared off , and I sheared one so the plastic bolts may have worked a bit.

Trying to keep them tight is another challenge, always coming loose and you can't crank on them or they will break.

Another note on the YGE.

Where the esc wires come out , put some hot glue in under the heat shrink.
If one of those lead wires vibrates enough ( see loose plastic bolts above )when sitting on the pins from the lower board , it will fry the esc (been there).

Other than a few oddities the YGE is a great esc , 0 issues in service. Combined with the vbar governor it's a terrific setup. These comments coming from a big kontronics fan. I've got a few kosmics also.

Default esc

Good info. ..the bolt i had were long enough to go thru and put a nut on them..I use 1/4 braided wire protectors so I stuffed it into the esc for those wires. I will go back and hot glue them.
