Sport fliers trex 700 equipment update
Just wanted to let the sport fliers out there know about my equipment I am running on my trex 700. I am getting really good performance out of it. I have a trex 700 with the align 800mx motor and running KST 725mg servos on cyclic and a KST 525mg on the tail. I am using a Hobbywing Platinum V3 100a HV (140a peak for 10sec.) ESC and a Hobbywing UBEC 10a /20a peak bec. I have finally got 30 flts on it and wanted to publish some numbers. I live in Phoenix Az and it summer. Which means it's hot even at 7am. Lol. 85-90f outside and fast fast forward flight with loops and rolls and my motor temp is 145f. I have gotten it as low as 137f but that was at 5:30am. My esc is 105f with the included fan from Hobbywing. And my bec is 110f and servos are 112f. My AR7200bx that the bec is plugged into is 102f. My peak amps today running these servos was 2.85pA. I am using a 3cell 2200mah battery on the bec and after 5 flights I have 78% remaining. I am using a 12 cell set up of 5500 mah 35-45c lipos. I say 35-45c be cause I have some are rated at 35c and some are rated at 45c. I can tell no difference between the packs after flying. After setting my timer at 5:40 I have used between 3000mah and 3300mah. Not bad for 6:00 by the time I land and get everything shutdown. My packs are between 100-105f.
I got the servos from aloft hobbies.com. My esc and bec from Falkonsekido.com ( U.S. Hobbywing distributor) and my batteries are Scorpion brand from Graysonhobby.com. A 6s 5500mah 35c battery from grayson is 79.00. 3s 5500mah 35-45c pals are 42.00. I fly a mixture of 3s and 6s packs to get my 12s. If you are just a sport flier still honing your flying skills and don't want to do extreme 3D this a great setup. If you want to do all out 3D maybe not. This hobby is expensive as is and just want to share the things I have tried and worked with zero flaws to date. I have almost 1000 flights on Hobbywing ESC's ( platinum pro v3 50a, 100a and 100a HV) on three different helis with zero trouble. I have about 600 flights on KST servos (215 mg on trex 450 and 725mg/525mg on trex 700) with zero issues. I like them because gearsets for them are 7.00 and 12.00 respectively. I run Align 615mg on my 550, also no issues, but gears are 24 bucks a pop. Ouch. Just sharing my setup. |
