I resized all the links below the swash as they don't move that much, everything above the swash will work itself out. Can you guys check your rear bevel gear for me to see if my strange one matches everyone's elses.

What is that long black rod with big plastic bits on the ends poking out of your rotor head?

Flybarless seems a bit more like having a plastic inflatable girlfriend you can play with it all you want but it just don't feel real

I will be setting up an RJX 90 with a SK720 this week, I plan to go FBL myself next year on the Fusion 50, this should help me narrow down the field on which FBL unit i want to buy.

Charley,

I went on a week long business trip and when I got back Jason and Steven had the SK720 installed and the 140 conversion done and it was flying they did a real good job, wiring nice and neat, cut the frames above the servo mount to install it, I was quite proud of them.

It fly's great, may have to convert one of the 90's now to FBL

Capi,

I believe that I have the same tail gear issue. I will send you a PM. Well i think that my 90 is ready to fly. Just finished it up about an hour ago. I am debating on taking off work tomorrow to spend the day with my new love!

Default Tail Bevel Gears

I found a similar issue with the bevel gears but with mine it was the long umbrella gear in the front TT assembly that seams to be affected.

The gear is slightly discolored compared to the others and has some imperfections where the bearings slide on. The 12x18x4 bearings are a bit loose on the gear. I also had to sand the gear box halves a bit to get them to clamp snuggly on the bearings.

The mesh of the gears in the front assembly on my kit is way off. The gears are tight and mis-aligned. I'm hoping they will wear in to an acceptable level.

The rest of the kit however went together very well and looks good.

I got an answer from Clyde that confirms what I thought, these are the new gears that solved one of the last problems on the prototype. The gear is molded not CNCed, that is why it looks different. The bevel gear should fit smoothly onto the TT end caps, if the gear is difficult/tight to get on the TT end caps you need to get it replaced. The gear meshing will sort itself out in a flight or two.

Default Vel 90 main gear

HFG- great job on pics and ideas.

the main gear to pinion mesh on my Vel 90 seems a good bit loose. I was thinking about lengthening the slots to allow the engine to slide closer.

any ideas?

Dunno, my mesh worked out pretty well. These are mod 1 gears so they wont have to be super tight like on say a 550.

OK cool

I ordered an extra main gear when I got my kit, so I think I'll just go with it and see.

Let ya know how mine turns out.

Thanks man
