why the grip arms are on the same side as the leading edge of the blade instead of the stock grips that have the arms so that they project rearwards on the same side as the blades trailing edge although i don't know why you can't flip them over then set the head phasing with the swashplate ? is that possible ?

=] you are running the tapered plastics, same profile as the carbons, heavier but well flimsy...

do the 45 / 45 deg. to find the C/G, then hang by the blade hole with a plumb to see if it lines up...

depending on which side if it doesn't introduces unwanted effects if its trailing or leading grips...

like holding a huge sheet of material and walking into the wind, or walking backwards doing the same thing...

Good point! The Align flybarless head has the pitch arms on the leading side. The lettering is up and the head of the bolt is up. So I can't really screw that up too easily.
Now the stock flybar head I modified for flybarless has the pitch arms on the trailing side. I used this one when I converted over to the SK 360 and it worked like a champ. I reamed deep inside of the block past where the shaft would normally stop, shaved off the about 0.5", cut two slots where the flybar used to go and drilled a hole 90 deg to that for the thru bolt. The head was closer to the airframe and like I said, worked quite well. I put it back on for trouble shooting and unfortunately the wobble was still there.

Now I'm using the white foam tape you find at the hobby shop. I've struggled so long with this I don't remember if any of the other tape I used yielded the same results.

I'm ready to steal my 360 back from my son. I bought a Solid G to use with the 360 and couldn't make it work right to save my life. Put it on his 600N and it worked fine. Maybe I'll just change canopies, he'll never know!!!!

I think I'll send an email to Skookum. Probably should have done that sooner but didn't want to look like a sick bay commando.

One thing to note is that by using leading edge grip control with FBL is the swash moves up for positive collective pitch. I am sure it has an effect on performance as well, I have read of some people changing it and it did effect the way the heli flew, at least with flybared heli's.

Yea, with the modified stock head and the trailing pitch arms the swash did have to drop to increase blade pitch. I remember having to reverse the collective.
