Default Trex 800 Narrow Turbine Conversion Kit

Turbines have caught my interest lately... so much so, it might turn into a purchase!
Was considering the Wren 44 with a Trex 700 conversion kit.

I emailed Wren USA, and Ron informed me that the 700 kit is no longer made, but a Trex 800 Narrow kit is, at $550.
Only further info he could send was a picture of the kit spread out on a table (I'll post up later when im home).

I'm not finding anything on the net regarding this kit.
Has anyone seen this, used it, or got information they can share?

Cheers,
Rhys

Trex 800 Narrow kit......

Look forward to reading your sharing.

Don't understand the word "narrow" means......

Align has 2 * 800 versions~ EP has a bigger tail
Nitro's tail is smaller in diameter.

What else.......?!

There is no 800 nitro version, only 700 stretched to 800 right?

Only referring to the wren conversion kit not being available for the 700 any longer, only an 800 'narrow' conversion kit.

I've emailed asking for more info, but havent got a response yet.

The turbine hangs slightly out of the frame on both sides with the trex 700 kit, right?

Possibly this just sits inside the frame... but then I thought the frame thickness was identical between 700 and 800 trekker.

Not a problem then.

For the 700:

Just need some aluminum spacers (make it yourself, very easy, a small lathe will do the job)
and may be a bit larger small CF plaque

Nice work on the fabrication! That all you needed too do? Does the wren 44 turbine come with mounting brackets etc?

the kit ron has for sale is for the new 700 dfc nitro helis . he no longer has kits to fit the original trex 700. the frames on the new dfc are considerably narrower . I am currently flying one of these I will try to get some pics of it posted first chance I get.

Yes that true, mine is the new kit, it's much narrower than the "old" one. that's why the place where mine is housing the turbine is wider.

Hmmm it is expensive for a couple pieces of CF, ally brackets and a tank... I would prefer not to do the fab myself though.

Yes, I agree...it is expensive. Most members here understand the costs involved with such a specialized project. Unfortunately we do not sell thousands... or even hundreds of these...they are made five sets at a time...and inventoried sometimes for months.
It is hard to deliver aerospace quality at hobby shop prices. I welcome anyone who can manufacturer these components at a lesser price to contact me!

Of course.

Indeed it's much better to use this conversion kit than do a DIY conversion Ron. Besides, after spenting a large amount of money, 550 is not such a high value at all. I was just joking arround, don't get me wrong

BTW, wound you mind shipping one of these to me in the near future, here to Brazil? Do you accept pay pal?
