yge esc cutting off and powering up again
Guys
Went out flying today. First flight on the heli 4 mins landed heard 6 beeps coming from the esc. Don't know what 6 beeps mean. Took it up again and she cut. was able to save the heli as she spooled back up again. A buddy suggested I try the old battery backs and sure enough it cut out perhaps 3 -4 mins into the flight. Spooled back up again. No tones from the esc both time that it cut. esc and batteries cool to the touch. Can some tell me what may have gone here please. Thanks D |

Thanks Wayne
6 beeps after a flight Any Ideas. Another thing I ran 13,5 degrees of pitch, the heli felt great do u think that could cause the esc to cut out? Thoughts please Thanks d |

D run 12.5 again and see if it cuts off. Then you know for sure. 13.5 is overkill.....lol

Yge info is scarce on what 6 beeps really mean. I'd suspect its caused by a mid air ESC restart after a thermal shutdown. Which YGE are you using and does it have a heatsink? I had to add a heatsink to my YGE 160 running in south Louisiana. Would get the high temp beeps often and once it shutdown. Never had issues after adding the heatsink.

Deepak, used heat sink compound on the heat sink? Mine would normally be middle 130's F after flying when checked on the side where the heat sink contacts the board.

He has been using the same esc since he got the kit I believe, it worked flawless, only started cutting off, after he raised the pitch to 13.5. And it's rainy season here, so the temps are not that hot.As it was in the dry season.

i don't think its the esc i think something was sorting out as there are some burn marks on the tail servo, like an arch when something shorts out. perhaps the emcotec switch.
that would explain a whole lot. discovered that the hard way! |

FWIW, 6 beeps/startup failed on the YGEs points usually to a faulty motor/esc connection. So IŽd say check these (connectors, frayed isolation etc) and eventually also check the motor for shorted windings.
I may be from Germany, but I totally agree on the comments regarding the YGE manuals. They are not any better in German Hope you get it sorted Dr
