Yup I have made mcpx night blades so these 360mm should be a breeze....odd how I have had a few night setups but never flown at night before

Default Post your Night Rig Pics and Videos

Finished my night blades or my x3 only using equipment I ha laying around so it ain't pretty

One rainbow led on leading edge for overall awesome effect

Two red LEDs on top and two blue LEDs on bottom of other blade for orientation

Both blades have one each cr2032 so all I need to do is bridge the gap in the line to get flow....I doubt many night flights so this is my solution. If weather is good a hover tomorrow. These are only 325mm vs my 360mm align blades on currently, but I won't "3d" much in the night, too risky and I'm not experienced yet for it....plus if something fails I can just Th and land, pull out phone flashlight and take Heli safely away Click image for larger version

Oh and both have been balanced by cg and weight so they are good with a couple pieces of electrical tape on one blade

Wow Kevin, that Logo looks awesome!

This is my first go at a night rig. I'll have to report back once I can get some action pics.

Freeko thats awesome. Are those waterproof led strips? I just recently started using those, and what a difference they make. The silicone distributes the light a bit making more of a glow effect. Very cool.

Thank you sir, they are. Purely by accident, too. I didn't realize they were waterproof strips until they showed up at the house, lol, but I'm quite happy with them. I didn't expect the silicone to have such an effect but it does seem to make the whole strip glow! The only down side is having to cut the silicone away to tap into the solder pads, but it looks nice. The heli doesn't end up looking all bumpy in daylight either which I think is kinda nice too.

Just got done converting my Atom 500 to a night flyer. I did my nitro last winter but I needed something to fly in the backyard.

Here is my first attempt at night flying. I was surprised how easy it was to keep orientation, and felt more comfortable flying it toward the end. Night flying just opened up so much more flying time. Basically, 24x7

I decided to give spot light night flying a try with my 600E pro. It was really fun and easier to do than I thought.

This is a little video of a friend of mine. This is his 600 that he calls his Nite-REX. This was the first time I had ever seen night flying in person. Very cool.

Way to go Darren! I tried to keep the trees in the background for orientation.
