Ok boys...here's the skinny...

everyone has been asking about an Align 800 though no hard proof has been put out there as of yet ..the talk is some type of conversion for the 700 but nothing more than talk so far..

Well with the nice parts from RJX......

There now sits a hybrid RJX/Align 800LE CPII/VBar on my kitchen table...(don't ask what the rest of my house looks like right now)

Been tinkering with the HS to get that tuned in for a shake free flight( even @ 1400 this beast will launch itself... but due to darkness and storms rolling through..test flights are now on hold.

Also been working on making (MUCH) longer boom stays and tail fin extension...

But it's coming up to the witching hour and this old man need a few hours rest before heading back to work, so this project is getting parked for this evening till tomorrow

Well that last group photo took almost an hour between getting the fleet out side and fitting them across the drive way..

But you are correct the family portrait needs an update

Awesome Buddy

At .52 in the video, it sucked a branch clean off the tree

Then blew it away!

Thanks all...

Though now after getting a couple of flights in now...I can see I'll need to replace the motor and ESC..

The NEU 1920 though is 510 kV wasn't meant to swing a rotor dish this big...

Going to order a Scorpion 5020-450 series motor to use,
and the ICE80HV is getting up to 180 degrees, I can relocate the ESC and install a cooling fan, but I think the ICE120HV should do the trick.

I'll be ordering the new parts this week.

But the laboratory isn't quite done yet......

I have another project on the design table and this one is insane even in my creatively confused mind....

In short,
I've done a few scale projects and thought they were fun, but never really prove to be anything more than standard helicopter mechanics stuffed in a fiberglass shell...

So I thought (which is a frightening thing) what if.....

I were to take this.....

Airwolf

60-90 size RC Helicopter Scale Fuselage

Part# CN4029A

Install the mechanics of a 600 ESP flybarless on 10S..

Ok now your thinking nice but it's still just a fancy and very large scaler..this is true, but the tricked out part is to have it with twin 70MM or larger electric ducted fan jets.

A true jet powered hybrid helicopter,
The concept has been tried, but just for appearance and effect on a 500 scale build. Which was very nicely done.
The EDF units that were use do not provide enough thrust to move the helicopter.

My thought is to flip a switch in a hover and have the bird rocket itself.

I've been working on the designs for about 6 months on and off, but this will be the most costly project to date.

So far...
Scale fuse.....................$700.00
600ESP mechanics .......$700.00
Dual EDF units..............$400.00
Triple ESC's..................$700.00
11+ ch Tx/Rx................$800.00 +
Vbar.............................$490.00
Or HC RIGID.................$550.00
Misc parts....................$800.00

This one is for real folks, at this cost failure in not an option, and if it works, it will be the mother of all helicopters

All these sleepless nights are affecting your sanity man It is big bucks and you don't even get a gas turbine but EDF is good if the required thrust will be there.......Now if that is what you fancy......that will be what we fancy

My favourite fuses are the monstrous looking gunships like the Hind CH-53, Cobra, AH-64 Longbow and such like rather than the smooth looking Bell 222 Air Wolf but hey this is me
