Collective management? these guys are running 12-13 degrees of pitch in their helis. They may have colllective management, but they're smoothe STICK BANGERS, and stick banging draws more amps than just flying the heli around.

Just so u guys know, the align speed control and motor are only designed for 6s, and will burn up on 10s.

[quote="Laurens"]Jurrien, I heard the Szabo's have reported to have swelled already 2 packs of 6s.quote]

Ok, i just got confirmation from Alan sr, and he informed me that they have NOT puffed any of their packs flying the 600

Ok personal conformation is more likely to be true then something I read on RCgroups.

However I still insist that 8s should be the minimum for 3D. 10s is the best for both the pack and power.

Flown with 6s2p (4 packs of Align 2100/16C): http://uploadfile.putfile.com/videos/15917592655.wmv

I think with new cells from Flightpower, TP or Xcell it's no problem for 6s. It's also much cheaper to load and balance 6s

Great video!

How would you build your 6S 20C from flightpower?

3700 6S 1p (very easy to balance and load, but a bit low on capacity)

or

4200 6S 2p 4*2100 (a bit heavier but more AMPS) same config as the aligns

I hope to see further evidence that all will be fine on 6S if you keep the flights under 5 min...

Hey Nick nice flight, glad to see you like your 600.

Flying a hard 3D routine, your looking at about 5-6 minutes of flight, but thats all usually a routine last...you can only go through so many tricks untill you run out and have to start combining.

Average nice smooth flight is about 7-10 minutes, depending on hs and pitch.

I think one important thing to note is that by going with a higher voltage setup, the amp draw comes down to get to the same watts, which means you wouldn't be using a 10s2p 4200mah on a T-Rex 600, more likely it would use a 10s 3000 or 2500, keeping the cost, weight, size and everything else close to the 6s setup. especially if you can do a 10s 1p pack, cuz that is actually less cells than the 12 cells in a 6s 2p config. and a fair amount of the cost is in the assembly. The perfect setup in my book should be able to keep the packs down around 120' and still provide 10 min of basic flight. If we go 10s I think it would be easier to find this compromise, and keep the amp draw down enough to use the ~3000 mah or so packs without puffing the magic dragon. If we stay with 6s and wait for the C ratings to catch up, the flight times are not going to improve, and 5- 6 min of 3D is awfully short.... I would like to see the 600 run on higher voltage myself, I love the lightining bolt sparks I get when I plug in my Ion...high voltage baby, YEAH !!!

Yea.. where you flyin? Circle City flyers or Prado PVMAC? I am a member of PVMAC and was flying at Prado until all the politics out there banned us to the back yard (cant fly out in front anymore). Jeff Fassbinder flys out at Prado and he is just about the only heli guy oth there right now....

Right now I fly out at Arbor park in Los Alimitos or out at Carson... In fact weekend after next Carson flyers are having a fun fly.....

word has it that the szabos werent flying the Align packs in the XFC but a new improved 6s pack from TP.

A 6s 50 sized heli is nowhere near the Optimal setup be it for beginner or expert. Align is feeding us soup.

Buy the frame and put a better power system in it. Way too much effort by Align to sell us this 6s2p turd of a setup. Heli is nice it seems, If they have finally got their quality issues worked out.

I talked with Danny and Alan Sr in San Diego and one of them (can't remember which now) mentioned Danny swelled a 6s2p.
