Zeal 105mm tail review
So here is a quick review of the zeals I bought last week for my X7. I got 7 flights out of them before they started to hum real bad and suddenly explode in flight. They were not over tightened or ever hit the ground. Unfortunately the result was a boom strike causing one blade to be destroyed. Have a look at the pics to see what was left of the tails. I would suggest you don't fly with them pointed at you in a hover.
Yes that is the brass sleeve still in the tail grips. At least the other blade left some remnant of itself in the grips. So I saved $4 over rail tails and it cost me $100 set of mains and a $10 tailboom. Anyway, I hope you have better luck with these. |

Interesting a 600 blade separated on a heli at IRCHA.
Maybe I will hold off on those 115's for awhile on the G700.....

I would guess that the one let go at the root and hit the other one on the way. The flight was less than a minute

There's a known hum problem in the x7. If you used the recommended distances for the tt bearings that can be a cause.

At least it killed your spinblade. Two birds with one stone. That should take care of the substandard blades on your heli. Po ping ping blades coming out of the woodwork. Some of them seem quite dangerous.

I have one set of zeal main blades and they were not well balanced, so I am not a fan of them so far.

@OP
What's up with you being a Spin rep? Why are you flying Zeal blades?

A lot of guys fly different tails. Even the pros. I was trying to find ones I liked best.

It's rather odd to see someone who reps for one company use words like "review" for a competing company. If Zeal tail blades are exploding I see the safety concern, so why not post that in the Zeal forum where they can actually respond?
