Unhappy Firmware 3.30 and R7008SB

Since this update and the installation of the GPS, I get packet lost errors in my log files and a red flashing led.
I would like to know if anyone have tried the new firmware v3.30 with a R7008SB in S.Bus mode ?

Hi.

It is working without problems in my 7HV but without GPS. Do you use 12CH mode?

Cheers,
Nils

Hello,

Yes, Fasstest 12CH. With or without telemetry, same result.
Thanks for the info, that's good to know.

No, I didn't test that.
I will try.

I unplugged the GPS from the SK720, did a three minutes hover and everything is back to normal.
When I used the GPS my rx link was lost after about one minute.

I will check the logs for packet loss, in case my rx link this morning was pure luck.

Hi.

In my opinion the SK720 could not recognize if there is a problem with the uplink because this would not provided by Sbus. So if there is a problem with the packages it should located in SK720 or the connection between 7008SB and SK720. (But perhaps I am wrong...)

So perhaps like the tail issue with logging there could be a similar problem with GPS because of the higher usage of CPU/SD Card.

So if the problems occurs again with GPS I suggest to put logging of and if then everything is fine you should inform Skookum about the issue. The basic logging (RX Loss and so on) should be recorded anyway, if I am not wrong.

Cheers,
Nils

PS. Would be nice to get an update about the results, because I ordered SK GPS and habe the same setup on my 7HV. :-)

Yes, I'm trying to get my Goblin500 running. I had a red blinking LED after init one time today. It was gone after repower.
There is also a red blinking after connection with the LCD. It need to repower the SK again. This is always. Is this normally?

I run the SK720 with sw 3.30 and without GPS. The LCD is updated also.

Cheers
Olaf

Nils, kein update von Robbe seit 3 Wochen.

Default Firmware 3.30 and R7008SB

Perhaps I has not enough flights, only one Day with 3.30. Sounds like a general problem if this did not occur with old version. Does somebody ask Art about this new behaviour?

@Olaf: Warte derzeit auch auf 2 Mails. Sind seit Karneval verschollen...

Cheers

Hopefully this issue will be solved soon (before my GPS arrives). I does not like to fly with mystic problems that could crash the heli...and Sbus is a basis technology...

That's not normal to have a red blinking led, it means that an error occurred.

The strange thing, from the little knowledge I have about all this, is that augur and myself do not have any problem without the GPS.
My problems start when I plug the GPS.

Anyway, in case that may help, with the GPS what I did found in the log is that I get packet lost errors from the begin.
In the worst case, I can imagine that I could get a rx link lost right after init.

I will post my log file when I go back home.

That was a no event for me : I was doing hover tests, like I do after each firmware update, so the SK720 just engaged the self-leveling, my fail-safe pitch was set to a gentle descent so even if I did not regain the rx link in time (it took a little less than a second), the heli would have just land by itself.

I'm really in love with this unit.

No, I haven't done it for now.
I was waiting for some test results from other people. My hope was that I missed something somewhere.

I also had a red light with a traditional receiver and the 720 indicated that a memory erase had been done, which turned out not to be the case. I didn't try to remove the GPS, but I replaced the receiver by a new one and now it works without problems.

I haven't tested the previous receiver afterwards to see it was faulty. What I did do was to disconnect each connection between the receiver and the 720 and I think, if I remember well, that the green light turned on (after resetting the 720) when I removed the AUX channel connection. Perhaps that the AUX channel was on, but because I didn't perform a compass swing yet that this caused an error but this is just a guess.

Default SK720 and S-BUS?

Is the S-BUS FASSTest 14/18 Channel communication working with sw 3.40 now? Could anybody test this?
