Default How much wind is too much?

Took my Warp out the other day and it was very windy - as in - 50km gusts up to 70km for sure. I just could not wait.

The warp tail was acting as if it was in rate mode - but wasn't. Blowing all over the place.

Norm?

I've flown the Warp in 30kph gusting 60kph winds and the tail held just fine.

What are you running for gyro, gains, and tail blades? If you're running the Hawk tail hub, this reduces your effective tail rotor area and thrust.

Hi Jeff,

While waiting to get my MKS back I put on a KST DS215MG that I had for my 450X.
I had to turn the gain way down as the vibes were something terrible. Even now I get fluttering
of the tail when doing a hard turn.

I can't find a happy medium whatsoever - gain is down to 18-20 on my DX8 - using iKon and fusuno blades - 61 I think.

I drop the gains just enough to kill the oscillations but then the tail wants to drift.

I'm running the TracX on mine ... I can send you my setup file tonight if you want.

You're getting vibes? Stock tail? How flexible are those Fusuno tail blades... I've never used them.

Sounds great. Thanks.

Stock tail. I use those fusuno's on my other 450 as well. Stiff as pokers. LOL
