Unhappy Nothing worse than...

Spent 2 hours rebuilding heli after crashing practicing rainbows, went out before work to get a few flights in and crashed again dumb thumbing a back flip right into the ground 3 mins into first pack!

Hehe, s@!t Happens :-)

Sorry for your 'loss' :-)

Yesterday i went out with my re-builded 450se, and due to some crowd pleasing, I flown around some trees. - I did hit some of the tree, and did damage a little bit of my brand new gryphon blades. :banghead:

It was very funny, and a great flight, but afterwards I did think, *why did I do that?* hehe.

I post a picture of one of the many branches i did chop :-)

Turns out my elevator servo failed, may have been cause for crash also? Does anyone know warranty period on mks ds92a+ servo?

No I don't.

But it's pretty hard to prove that it did break in the air, and not by your crash..

Found out warranty is only 90 days, bought them July 2012, wish it was 90 days of flying instead. Replacement should be here tomorrow, hate down time.

Question Show Me....

Flyinggoose,

How did you discover the elevator servo failed? Are you sure its failure caused the crash or did the crash cause the servo failure.

Any damage spotted after the crash...could have been caused by the crash itself.

Just trying to figure out how you did the reverse engineering diagnosis.

Hmm Maybe we should start a NTSB-RC Division for post air mishap analysis!

Gad to hear you'll be up soon.

OP

Turns out it was another one of my stupid mistakes, thought I had bec set at 6volts all this time and here it was set on 7.2volts and fried servo, why I didn't check with meter at install is beyond me, lesson learned the hard way!

New servo came in, have it installed and lowered bec to 5volts to be safe, tail, pitch and aileron servos seem to be ok, thank god. Did a test hover in backyard and all looks good. Still can't forgive myself for not checking output voltage the first time

Glad to hear you are where you need to be . . . . Up in the air.

Safe flying! Thanks for the follow up info.

Serves as a reminder to all...to double check everything! I'm guessing that it took some time and loading to fry the servo. No chance of detecting the problem while doing your pre-flight testing ...test actuating the servos, etc??

How about the OTHER servos? If one fried... very likely there is *some* damage to the others, no??
