Five more flights in this morning before work and I'm still impressed.

C'mon Gaui, lets get the tail pitch slider(which is what I really have been waiting for)

Same here! I hope it's a little more reasonably priced than the new head/swash, though.

Hello guys,
Does anyone know if the swash can be upgraded without upgrading the head? My swash is sloppy but the head is fine. (I have the FES kit)
thanks

Should be no issue at all with the new swash and older head.

Not sure about that... There seems to be an ofset on the washout balls... Not at 90 from the pitchlink balls...

They are not off set, the balls that connect the links from the swash to the main grips are just turned 90 degrees. Should be a drop in replacement, no issues. As far as the upgraded head, you can use that with the old swash as well.

BTW, if your only upgrading from the old swash to the new swash, you should not have to do anything as far as linkage rod adjustment, FBL settings, or any other change. Just pull the old swash off, and drop the new swash in, pop the links on, and fly!

I have just checked mine upgraded swash, have not mounted it yet.

What you mention on the pitchlink balls was not what I ment. But I have checked the washout balls and they are at 90 from the pitch link balls so you are good to go anyway...

I don't see a problem swapping swash. The new version is much lighter as well. From memory, 20+ grams.

I have bolted mine on...

Found the install a breaze until the washout arm ball links had to be installed.

I had some strugle getting them treaded, so I used the supplied jezusbolt for leverage and that made it real easy... To easy... The ball link broke clean inside the washout arm....

Darn it... I've got it out be putting it in the oven at 100 degrees C and using a exacto knife...

Attached a picture with the jezusbolt leaver... Please be carefull, the ball will snap without any warning and there is no measurement givin in the manual....

I screwed mine in as tight as I could by hand and just by luck it was perfect. If it needed to go anymore mine probably would have broke as well.

When assembling the washout arms I found it easiest to screw them in a little at a time, back out to clear any debris and then repeat until they were fully seated.

Just to give a ballpark measurement I clamped my calipers on those arms. They measure 32mm from the top of the metal part to the end of the plastic ball link.

Why is this swash 'better' when it seems to have smaller bearings?

Also why are the swash ball sideways and not facing into the rotation (they face anti clockwise). Wouldn't this mean there is more chance the ball links will pop off? Wouldn't it have been better to go the other way so they cannot fly off?

My x3 is like that, ive had some hard landings, a few crashes and a blade strike on a light pole. The only links that came off were the grip arm links.

Im with you on the bearing size, but im not sure how much smaller it is?

If the swash is like the x3, which it looks like the bearing replacement is easy and cheap.
Also if they sell the lower and upper separate thats even better.

I actualy think that the same bearing is used...

Seems like the lower part of the swash has the same dimensions as the old swash.

Never mind, picture above shows otherwise...
