Default Noob to DX6i

I just acquired the DX6i.

I have successfully bound it to my MSR......BUT......I can't get it to spin at all. Servos seem to be adjusting as a move the sticks, but no movement at all on the rotors...main or tail.

I'm sure it has to do with the switches on the radio.

Can anyone tell me what position all of the toggle switches need to be in for an MSR?

I will be binding this radio to 2 MSR's, 1 MSRx, 1 CX3, 1 MCPX, 3 SR's, and a 400. So I have a lot of work to do LOL.

Thanks for any/all advice!

I have the manual...but was hoping for a quicker answer here.

All switches should be away from you towards the back of the radio. Make sure that the THROTTLE HOLD switch is toward the back of the radio set on MIX1.

Check the manual for binding to a computer vs non computer radio. You may need to bind while holding no rudder or possibly right rudder.

On the DX6i and msr all you need to do is to plug the msr battery in, set it on a flat level surface. When the blue light in the canopy starts to flash hold the trainer switch towards you and turn on power. Hold trainer switch towards you for about 2 secs and let it spring back. The MSR should then bind in a few more secs and blue light should be on steady.
Sounds like it is already bound as the servos move. Check that the throttle hold switch is not on and that the throttle trim is at 0.

Crud...no look. I believe it is binding...as I have followed the instructions on Spektrum's website (same as above). It binds and servos function. Tried both of my MSRs (which I know are working properly on the stock transmitters) and they both act the same on the DX6i...no main motor movement at all...same with tail. I think I can rule out both heli's having any problems and focus on the radio settings. Is there any indicator about the throttle hold on the display. I have it all toggles pushed toward the top/back of the transmitter as suggested...but still can't get it right.

I hope this is just an issue with the MSR and not my other heli's as I plan to set up several.

Thanks for any more info you all may have.

Just found the "MONITOR" feature and the THR and AIL are not moving at all when I move the sticks.

Any ideas??

Did you set up a profile for the MSR first?

Just Reset and started over...still the same result.

Argh! This shouldn't be this difficult.

I appreciate all of the help, but this is frustrating the crap out of me!

I just got yesterday from another HF member. Said it was used about a dozen times. It looks brand new.

I tried both MSR's, but none of the others yet. I did switch to a previous model that was left programmed and the monitor shows no movement on that program as well.

Ok, try this...take off the canopy. Disconnect the tail motor from the 5n1 and power up and see if the main motor spins. If not, reconnect the tail motor and disconnect the main motor and see if the trail motor spins.

Ok, unplugged tail rotor...no movement at all. Plugged it back in and unplugged main rotor. Nothing at first...then the tail started spinning and responding to throttle stick movement when I moved it left and right.

Not sure what that means or tells you, but I assume you are on to something??

If the monitor shows nothing, it will not work. I'd sit down with the radio and see if you can get the throttle channel to move.

That one is the strangest. It is purely in software for the heli programming... Try various positions for the flight mode and throttle hold switch. Switches may be broken or have bad connections. Switches may have had locations moved. Try a new plane model from scratch and check the monitor.

Make the throttle channel move on the monitor screen if you can. There is no hope if you can't do this. Then we can look at the other channel.
