The one Hacker I tried did not have good soft start, maybe they fixed it, not sure. Try Fastlad, they are awesome

Hacker/Jetis in my airplane and heli experience have all been outstanding, but what In_to_the_Mystic_2003 says about the soft start in their ESC's is true.
I've had two and a buddy has had one and from the manufacturer they've all been set ,for us,with too hard spool-ups.
It is very easy to adjust to a softer setting ,either through the 'beep' method or with the much quicker computer interface cord, which you want anyway for governor settings, etc.
Once set to your satisfaction however they are very good ESC's you will just forget are even there, they flat do their job.
Castles, too are hardly anything to sneeze at. Their 50 and 75's will both do the job with ease. They have that neat read-out showing recorded performance data and with the stock motor, a Castle 50 ICE, 6s 2250mah 45c ThunderPower batteries doing no 3D but plenty of spirited, fast flying it never drew over 46 amps.
The motor, battery and ESC were all nearly disarmingly cool to the touch.Very impressive to this old boy . Doug

Thanks Doug. I'll use Kontronik. Too many burn out cases on the web for CC Esc's. Too expensive bird to use such a bad reliability.

It's mainly the HV Castle ESC's. The others have a pretty good record.

Very true. I've had them ,five of them, in some fairly high stress enviornments over the years in both airplanes and helis without a peep of trouble...ever.
Hey, I love Kontronic stuff too and look forward to buying some of their gear, and will.
Castles ESC's though, other than the well documented hassles with the one HV model aren't just "okay" ESC's Marco....They're outstanding ESC's, they resale great (check the ads,it'll tell you something),and are great performers. Doug

I'm thinking on thunderpower battery.
Would you use 2700 mah? It's 419 grs. Smaller is 2250 mah 357 grs.
As a begginer, I think I'll need more flight time than performance, but I don't want to overweight my heli.
Thanks

It'll balance just fine with 2700mah TP's Marco, no worry there whatsoever.I was just running one this morning. I put together 2 either 2250 or 2700 3 cells then I have 3 cell batteries on hand for stuff that uses that size.
If you get TP's DO get the G6 versions, whether the 25/45/65c series.
The warranty is no questions asked for a year, and if you crash and damage it they give you 50% off a replacement, pretty tough to beat that. Doug

About Esc's, an YGE 60 is also a very good choice. Very small ESC, same size than a Jazz 55. 5.7V BEC. Easy to program with the card.

By the way, I´d like to comment something.
Most of you owns a Vibe 500e, OK?
I´ve just received mine, and taking a look at the manual, I noticed that my original Vibe manual talks about a 1050KV Hacker motor that looks like it´s only sold in Japan. Hacker NHM-40-16BL, but manual downloaded from internet talks about an E-Flite power 25.
I´d like to ask you what kind of manual you have.
The one with Hacker motor, or the one with E-Flite motor ?
It´s a little bit annoying.
Perhaps depends on the country you get the heli from.
Thanks everybody

From a "looks cool as hell" standpoint it's a bummer that Hacker isn't available in black for the same price as the standard issue purple Hackers. I've had nothing but flawless service out of everyone of 7 Hackers I've owned including the airplane ones. They are truly outstanding motors.
However, I've been very pleasantly surprised at the power plus cool and smooth operation of the E-Flite 25 heli motor. Doug

The hacker for the V500 is not a standard motor, you can get one overseas for $300. Never tried it

Oh, I assumed it had a clone of it in the Hacker line-up, that'll teach me to do that assume thing.
Do you know anything about it that's unique ?
Like I need to worry about it . The E-Flite's running super, but I've been known to do rash...things Doug

Default I'm sold

Alright, I have been thinking about a 500e V5E. and screw it. no more thinking, I am ordering one tomorrow from lhs, So willl be here next week. I am willing to do a build, forum, and pics and video of set up. If you are interested PM me, and I will start a new thread for it. Just let me know what you want to see. I am going to take the next couple days to decide my electronic set up. I read the forum and appricieate all the good reviews, I am sure i will go with a scorpian motor, since that is what I typically use. Any recomendations on tail gyro. I have always been a Futaba guy, but open to suggestions (please include reason).
