That's because they are JR radios. The other spektrum's are actually made by Spek and look but ugly. I pretty much consider my setup to be on JR not spek since I have a DX7 and JR satellite rx's.

OT post:
I fly Futaba, but looked into a DX8 as well as I needed something to fly the BNF models. If you read the BB’s there’s still unexplained crashes, even with V2.01 software. Granted, a lot of DX8 owners aren’t experiencing problems, but man the last thing I want to worry about is a failed TX. Guess I will just have to stick to a DX7 for now.
