Default New charger ??

Hey guy's well my replacement charger came today and also my 4th replacement roller button for my DX6i, anyway nothing surprising with it and looks good quality for the price and one very neat feature is it came with a Temp probe, my old one had the ability i just didn't have the probe.

So has anyone has experience with the probe, what i want to find out is what temperatures are normal for charging lipo's and Nicd, Nimh cells what is considered dangerous for a lipo?
Nicd usually get hot at the end of a charge but does anyone know at what point damage can occur?
