Default Robird Software 101 (Now that the online servers are gone)

Recently, the online servers for Robird were permanently taken offline because the Developer decided to move on to other projects. The Robird is no longer in production, and there is no longer any way to run an online update.

Please note that if you try to run the online update, the software can and most likely be corrupted into a locked state because it will continually attempt to "call home" to the server site it was programmed to search for.

The solution to this is to uninstall the robird software completely, and do a fresh install of the files.

Then, once you have the software installed, you must have the most current firmware.

The software and firmware files are obtainable most easily at the following links.

Software:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showa...6&d=1416274045

Firmware:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...mentid=7299344

Note that the above link to the software is the Alpha Developer software that has extended features. Unless you are very familiar with what all of the parameters do, I do not suggest using the advanced tab.

Once you download the software, extract and install it. DO NOT under any circumstances click the ONLINE update!

Then extract the firmware file to a folder or location that you can easily remember.

Start the Robird Software, and connect your Robird while holding down the "Next" button on the unit.

Click the OFFLINE update button, and you should be prompted for the location of your firmware file. Choose the file and click update.

Do note that the firmware update can take a while, so let it do its thing until you see a full progress bar and it states update is complete.

Disconnect your Robird from the USB, and reconnect. You should then be able to program your unit.

I hope this helps.

~Derek
