Unfortunately it is not direct swashplate link. I wish it was but I think that due to the size of this thing a direct linkage would eat servos left and right. Oh and I think they mixed up the 700e dfc pics with the trekker's on esprit

i kind of thought that may be the 700 photos.. your right.. yea i guess less servo damage.. i wonder if the steel linkages are any thicker than older ones. i have a trex 700n and they are quite thin and flexible.. but i dont think the 800 comes with the carbon rods for them.

I would have thought the same, maybe Align servos, but decent quality futabas or something wont have a drama, eg mikado xxtreme etc servo wear seems no more than a 700.

Actually the align brushless servos (savox)are extremely robust. I do not think they would have a problem. But I also think that align is looking at this as being their platform for a camera ship. Not everyone is going to put 277inoz brushless servos on the cyclic for camera flying. It does look like in addition to being a 3D capable machine it is going to be a great camera platform as well. The xxtreme was built for one purpose.

Default First TREKKER is back in operaton

Having smoked the 120 amp ESC on the third flight, I have now installed a brand new Castle Creations 160 amp ESC, programmed it, and did a short test spool up in my front yard. All seems well so far. Unfortunately I won't have an opportunity to actually fly it until sometime next week, at which time I hope to capture some log data. Meanwhile, if anyone else manages to capture some data, we can make some comparisons.

What kind of flight time can one expect for a 12s 5000 65 to 130c pack? Looks like the same equipment as the dfc 700 only heavier.

Lastly, I heard running a bec with the stock aligns is a no no, anyone doing it?

How is the 3D performace compared to, lets say, a TRex 700e? Does it fly a lot bigger? Is it worth the extra $500?
