Default New to Mikado...really impressed with 480

Well. After a year or so of eyeing the 480 I finally picked one up. I have to say I'm impressed. It feels really good in the air. Solid, locked in and a joy to fly. I'm flying on 3300s and it is a blast. It is way better than I was expecting.

I'm glad you like it. I fly mine with 3500's and it floats around the sky.

Default Logo 480 Xxtreme

The Logo 480 Xxtreme is best flying heli for its size!
I have 480 Xxtreme , 700 Xxtreme, 800 Xxtreme, 550 Sx, 600 Sx, had 690 Sx.
I like the power to weight and flight characteristics of the 480 best. I am truly hoping that the new Logo 700 flies like an up sized 480 Xxtreme, if it does it will be the best heli ever imo!
I currently have 20 helis of all kinds and have owned over 50 so have some experience for comparison s.
3300 and 3700 batteries work fine.

Personally I think the g500 is a better flying machine. But it depends what you're after. They're different enough that both fit well in your fleet.
My 480 is my beater practice heli it's slow and floaty at 2500rpm so it's good for practice. My G500 is faster and smoother with no mechanical shortcomings like the 480. I'm sure some die hard logo flyer will disagree.
Both are great helis though.

I like my 480. I use Pulse 3700 and a Spedix tail case. The only thing I can say is I have stripped a main gear. I know the mesh was set right.

Slow and floaty at 2500? You must not be at +/- 14 degrees!

I'm not. With this geometry +/- 12.5 is about all I can hit without binding the servo arms.

Did you shim your maingear solid that it cant move up and down along mainshaft? Maingear has to be able to move up and down about 1-2 millimeters. If maingear is solid it will strip after few flights.

It's just a stock 480 combo kit with 500 blade grips nothing fancy same kit horns. All rod and horn specs per the manual. If I remember correctly 17mm 2nd hole from the end. I'll have to take some pics.
