Exclamation RJX Xtreme techno central

I thought about starting a thread with tips about how to get your RJX Xtreme set up in the best possible way.

Here's some I've come up with so far:

- Before joining the upper frame halves, make sure that the flange bearings are mounted
- Boil the canopy rubbers for about 5 minutes. This makes it much easier to put them in the canopy.
- Use some tape to mark where you want to glue the torque tube.
- Glue the gyro sensor holder. This will make a more stable platform.
- I use anti slip as used in cars to mount my batteries, together with velcro straps

I'll be doing a build thread soon, but I have mine flybarless. I think rotorhead settings are something to personally experiment with, because its what you like most.

found missprints in RJX 90EP manual (V 1.0)
1.) Belt Rotation 5-10B
2.) Servo Mount 6-4 (wrong direction)
3.) Bearing Block Pinion 2-2 (wrong direction)
4.) Missing Belt-preasure-bearings @ Step 5-5B (for 2009-2010 Version)

Thanks to Drukerfish for this useful tip:
Yesterday I lost the tail and the problem seems to be that the 14 mm pin that holds the pulley went off. I broke my allen tool while trying to remove the set screw. Watch it out!
It is necessary to file a bit the pin in the area where it is hold by the set screw. Otherwise it will go off and the tail will start spinning. It is awful that this and other issues are not properly documented in the manual that is still v1.0

5) Watch out the preasure from motor to Pinion-Bearing Block. There is much preasure if you use an scorpion with the turned down 8mm to 6mm shaft. you can't get down with the pinion as much as necessary to get a smooth operation. these preasure gives weird vibrations/sounds and a hot (and later damaged) bearing. maybee a beginner mistake but watch out! use a counterbore (don't know if it's the right word for some kind of drill) to get these angle to the pinion and get 1mm more down (closer to the motor) with the pinion. compare this problem with the missprint described at point 3 a few posts ago! maybee there is an context.

6.) reaming the ball-links is important, especialy tail-servo link.

Sorry, I posted it yesterday in the wrong place. This is my wishlist for the Xtreme 90 EP belt version, some of them already reported by you:

-Tail with 95 mm blades works better, for longer blades it needs to be balanced even if at lower headspeed than 1900 rpm
-Washers are needed for Scorpion motors with M3 bolts. More that 2 screws would be better to fix Scorpion motors. No washers in the manual.
-All links shall be reamed and have a smooth play in cliclic and tail
-Tail servo horn same as ciclic 13.8 mm (not explicit, confuse in the manual)
-14 mm pin of tail is better fixed by filing it in the place were it is hold by the set screw. Use some threadlock as well.
-Thread of canopy bolt does not match the holder and it goes off
-Canopy rubber grommets difficult to insert even after hot water inmersion. They need bigger holes(?)
-Belt rotation is displayed wrong on manual page 32
-Improve manual resolution
-servo mount in the wrong direction in section 6-4
-Bearing block pinion wrong direction in 2-2
-Missing instructions to install the belt pressure bearings. Difficult to figure out what are they for without the instructuions.
-Resonance around 1500 rpm with standandard dampers (just for information)
-Some vibrations problems are reduced by tweaking the distance of the pinion bearing to avoid vertical play

and other more personal wishlist:

-Stronger skids
-I would like to try the torque tube as soon as I am recommended to do it
-servo screws to plastic (personal bad experience, plastic parts need to be replaced after servo exchange, better normal nuts)
-small lipo tray, 5000 mAh lipos usually do not fit
-grounding cable installed as in other belts helis (Mikado, Compass) that are reported to need it
-Wrong main chasis thickness in my kit (2.3 mm)
-Is 100 or 93 MG standard?
