Plane? Are you at the right website?

Kidding aside, you probably would get more answers from, say, rcgroups.

ExtremeFlight Extra 48". Really good 3d plank and if you crash it "gently" it holds up well too

Wouldn't recommend it for a first plane. PA are excellent, I have the addiction, but they are not planes you want to be crashing.

Get the parkzone Visionair $300 BNF done. great fun 3D training plane & easier/cheaper to repair. Then go for a PA.

Precision Aerobatics all of the way
Between myself and a friend we have owned nearly all of them
We tried a lot of other brands along the way but they are nowhere near the quality of PA.

Kat MD is a great all round plane,
But for full 3d Look at the Addiction
My personal favourite(3s not 6s) and one tough SOB is the Ultimate AMR cant beat the sound a bipe makes when you throw it in to hard tumbles etc.

Get the full kit with motor servos etc, they just work

Jump on the PA website and check out the videos of each plane and get a idea of the flight style of each.

PA also sell spare parts, so if you damage a motor mount, wing rudder etc you can just get the bits you need other brands you need to rekit or repair which is a pain.

I allso agree with RC north, A balsa plane is not a great learning plane but after you have the basics mastered you cant beat them. A foamy is the way to go it doesnt need to be full 3d it just needs to teach you the take off and landing bits, orientation etc. I have a T28 trogan that runs 3s 2200mah packs and i love flying it if it crashes i hot glue it up and away i go again. Look at the BNF gear that run the same packs and learn on that. It will save you a heap.

The Visionaire is basically a foam version of the Addiction. It's full 3D, but much more forgiving. It's heavier, so it can handle a bit of wind. PA's are super light, power to wieght is awsome, but they do not like much wind. After flying my Visionaire for almost a year, I finally finished building my Addiction, did the maiden a couple of weeks ago....Wow is it touchy! Had to dial the expo up to 40% they recommend 60-70% in the manual I think. It's so light I can get 8-10min out of a flight Great planes, but not for beginners.

The visionaire certainly is a forgiving plane. It's 3D abilities are limited, but it certainly is durable. For 3D training I think twisted hobbies 32" foamies are the way to go. The new MXS-C flies a little closer to these bigger planes.
