Kasama Head for the Trex600N
Ed from Grand RC sent me this little gem so I thought I would give it a try and also do some build videos on it. The design of this head is VERY different than the Trex head and some special setups need to be paid attention too.
Enjoy Video Link ->Intro what the head kit contains (10 Megs) Video Link ->Step 1 Assembling the Grips and Head (30 Megs) Video Link ->Step 2 Assembling the Seesaw and Flybar (28 Megs) Video Link ->Step 3 Final Assembly on the main shaft (27 Megs) Video Link ->Step 4 Head and Linkages setup (30 Megs) When I get back from Hawaii I will do some flying with it and see how it works and how different it is than the stock Trex600 head. OK sorry folks for the LONG delay in getting a flight test video out! Vacation, Illness, Rain, Winds, etc delayed it BUT last weekend we got to do some testing. Bottom line this head is a ZERO slop system and feels very connected and agressive! The roll rate was a little slower than the Align head but the flip rate was faster (strange I know) but the over all feeling of the head is very good. I plan to keep it on my 600N! Here is the video! Video Link ->Flight test and Eval (30 Megs) Bob

Nice work Bob - can't wait to hear your report on how it flies - looks nice has a sort of scale feel to it being lower set than the stock - could be a great basis for a flybarless setup! The new QuickUK silver swash would look nice with it !!
We use silicone oil a lot in surgical instruments - use it on O-rings in endoscopes - great lubricant - does cause them to swell a little which is how it helps seal as well as lubricate.

John, are you talking about the regular silicon oil found in spraycans or is this a special silicon oil you're referring to? (I know it would be special for surgical instruments, but the one to use for the swash a.o.)

Hi Bob,
if you were to have some time for it I would be interested to know if the head fits the raptor 50's also, and the e620. Maybe I'm not the only one but I'd like to know what pitch and cyclic ranges it gets without binding on raptors. just as a comparison to the normal raptor kasama head. thanks a lot |

No Jeroen - not the regular spray stuff - its a clear very viscous liquid also available in grease form - swimming pool suppliers keep it for o-ring lube here but I guess there's not too many of those in The Netherlands - if you like I can send you some

More Pitch
Hello,
I just watched the build videos. Very nice. I enjoy watching these videos even if i don`t build the specific parts just so i can learn from them. Your video about the Kasama Head for the Raptor helped me a lot when I was building mine. I just want to add something. If you more the ball link on the mixing lever wouldn`t that give you a bigger pitch range ? Thus avoiding the bind on max negativ pitch and maybe even allowing the full +-14 pitch range. It`s just an idea and i wanted to know if it was correct or not... Thank You again for these great videos |

I looked it up and it looks like it also fits the Raptor 50.
I have the old Kasama head for the Raptor and if this one is at least as good as the old one it`s worth every $

EDIT: and while I'm at it: what are the advantages of the QuickUK swash over the new Align alloy one? EDIT2: OK, I've read the QuickUK page on the new swash. I see the point John
