I have a dozen or so flights on my hyperion servos and love them so far. I will likely fully convert my entire fleet to them little by little.

Between the price and the performance, its hard to go wrong, and for metal gears even. The ability to program them is icing on the cake.

Default BEC Location...

Goober (or anyone else running a BEC),

Where did you end up placing it? I was thinking about putting mine inside that little area below the battery tray on top of that removable black plastic square. I have my ESC below that piece. Would temperature be a problem? Wasn't sure how much air flow a BEC needed.

The other option I guess is mounting it on either side of the battery with zip ties.

My white Nx has it mounted under the battery like you mentioned. It hasn't been truly tested yet, but I can't imagine that the cc bec pro gets very warm considering it's rated up to 20amps. Were not coming close to that.

My other Nx had the bec mounted on the rear lower tray closest to the tail boom.

Default Another EC question...

I was wiring everything back up with the new BEC Pro and noticed that I did not have enough channels for both wires coming from the BEC. I have a 7 channel AR7010 RX.

Thro: ESC
Air: Servo 1
Elev: Servo 2
Rudder: 401 gyro
Gear: 401 gyro
Aux: Servo 3
Aux 2: OPEN
Bin/Data Port: ?

Can I use the Bind/Data port in the RX for the second plug from the BEC? Sorry for the newbie question.

Just use one wire or a Y harness. I went with the Y harness

After some research I found that with the 7 channel rx, you can use the dat/bind port for the second plug of the BEC Pro. Hovered my first battery since the switch a little while ago. Gotta say I like not having to worry about the rx battery. Still working out the shakes. Gonna let a couple of locals take a look at it over the weekend hopefully to get it more dialed in than what I am capable of doing. Hovering hands off though. It's gotta be somewhat close.

I know the feeling. It's been a week since mine went down. I lost a tail rotor blade just as I was getting ready to come in and set her down. Luckily it was mostly upright when it hit so it could have been worse. When we got the part it looks like the screw holding the blade grip on just broke. What makes me mad is that I had the new triple bearing supported one on my workbench ready for install. Had I done that I'd still be flying. On the brighter side I already had most of the parts and it's an excuse to upgrade.

Wait - What happened ? I was finally getting to the good part - where the white heli was going to fly. Then this great thread ended abruptly! Parting out the helis ... Was there a crash? Did one of the separates fail? Please ... I'm dying to know. How did the Orange RX with Sat work out? What about the Hyperion servos? So many questions - please don't leave us hangin' ....

-John
