Default Are black and red ok for visibility?

I've recently acquired an airbrush kit but haven't used it yet, not even to practice on some scrap plastic. I'll come to that later but the first thing I wanted to do was come up with an idea for the design.
I would like to have a similar design to my 1/10th RC buggy, which is basically a copy of the Marussia Formula 1 car. I'm not quite sure how this would work on a heli canopy (Align 550e) but my main concern is that it's quite dark and may not be very easy to spot in the air.

I'm not a very experienced pilot and struggle at the moment with a plain white canopy on my 400 so although it would be cool to have a "family" of models looking the same, I will probably go for something more sensible if this is likely to be bad for visibility.

What do you think?

Black is no good for visibility.

Neon Orange, and yellow work best for me. I also find red to be a good color.

You want bright colors stay away from dark shades of any color.

OK thanks - that was my concern with black. It's good that red is a good colour though.
I might try to keep quite close to the original plan then, but play down the black and use more red and white.
I'll probably come up with an idea and try it out on my 400 as the canopy is cheap to replace if I don't get on with it.

Now I just need to work out how to use an airbrush! In the past I've only sprayed with rattle cans so I'm sure there'll be plenty of learning to do there as well.

Cheers,

FYI - White is like black, but the opposite with the same effect, poor visibility.

Look at the colors that SAB uses on their Gobblins. They are highly visible.

You should go out and watch some guys flying and see what works best for you.

I painted my 350 QX flat black, and to be honest I haven't had a problem. I go off the LED's and the 'mode' light in the back. I'm getting a Fat Shark FPV system here soon, so I guess it won't matter anyway what color it is.
