Default Helioption makes me a custom part

A while back I was flying my 800 and for some reason my entire tail housing flew off. Needless to say it ate the dirt. Upon inspection the vertical fin mount (plastic) that comes with the kit had sheared the locating pin off. And oddly enough the two bolts that clamp it to the boom were tight. So I wrote to them about perhaps making an aluminum fin mount for the 800 and they agreed. Yesterday I got an email one has shipped to me. I will post a photo once it arrives. So for those of you that value this part, it should be available soon.

That's very cool. Are they available yet? I noticed mine half sheared off after a crash. Had to replace it with the same cheap plastic. Thanks

It should be here soon. I would imagine they will be on their site also. I'll let you know once it arrives.

Very nice.

I think Align should make such a critical part metal, as stock.

I found mine sheared off also, after a small mishap. Wouldn't have known if I didn't notice my tail case/fin wasnt vertical, when hovering in front of me after rebuild.
If id missed it and started anything more it would have been disastrous, without doubt.

Yep I already experienced what happens when it sheers without warning. I'm just stoked how just asking Helioption to make me one and they did. Guess if I had access to a few killer CNC mills and lathes most likely my wife would never see me again.

Even clone 700 is using metal pin:

It fits Align 700 but does not fit 800 because 800 boom is thicker than 700 or 700 to 800 stretch boom.

I have 800E boom in my 700. I use the aluminium clamp from my 700 boom or tailbox. I have stretched mine 700 with 800E tail with thick boom.

They are not the same. The 800 front gear box, boom and tail housing are much larger in diameter. The 700 stretch boom is nothing more than a longer 700 boom, torque tube and control rod.

I have the whole back part from 800E. It is 3cm longer than 700/800 stretchkit. My edge 813 and 115 edges maybe touch each other.

700 aluminium clamp was perfect match.

I have already a picture of the stretch 700 boom and 800E boom. It was bolt on abd flies great now. But i think i order the heli option part next time from fastlad. Better to be safe.
