Default Rudder servo

Hi,

I have just ordered the Protos 500 FBL Plastic Combo (MSH51201). For the cyclic I have order 3 Align DS515M. For the rudder, I have ordered a DS525M. Do you think this rudder servo is ok for the Protos or would you recommend a DS655M?

No 3D, only sport flying.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards.

Hi Vince, the consensus seems to be that the Protos will benefit from a full size servo like the 655. I followed this rule and did not have a problem since (running Futaba 9254 though).

I run a 655 on mine (came with the heli when I bought it used) and it runs fine but I don't do 3D. Not saying the minis won't work but echoing what Dr. D said, most favor a full size servo for the tail.

+1 on the full size servo. I use a Futaba BLS251 and it has been flawless.

I have a Spektrum H6210 for a tail servo. Along with the longer Lynx tail blades it has a crisp response even around 1900rpm or so.

Definitely get a full size tail servo.

I use the MKS DS 760 full metal for tail servo. Working as a dream, strong and fast.
