Yes you can add weight at the other end if you want but like KG says not in the blade grip area. However the reason most add it to the tip is because this helps you also set tracking because you can see one blade over the other in the hover. Thus it acts like tracking tape too.

Hi finless, I never have flown my walkera 36 heli in hh/avcs mode. A few days ago I got dx6 system. So, I had it normal mode for the gyro, but can not get the tail servo to move the thr/pic stick. Someone told me that, I may have two fly in hh/avcs mode. Because the revo mixing is kind of tricky to setup. I have watch your video, and set my heli by what you said on the videos. What my heli is doing is not holding tail. It want to spin with the rotor blade, I guess that will be clock-wise. Can you help me with this problem?

Antman - that's really too broad a question and covers a lot of ground - which gyro are you using, the Walkera one ?
Check the basics - main rotor goes clockwise and tail rotor anti-clockwise looking from above and the the right respectively. WIth the rudder stick at neutral the servo arm shoud be vertical and there should just be a tiny amount of right rudder ie the tail slider just be about 25% of it;s travel from the tail boom. Was your heli flying OK in normal mode and did you change the switches on the gyro - these helis are not well manufactured and can be a real PIA for even experienced pilots to set up - best to try and find someone locally with experience. They can be made to fly but many end up in a mangled heap even before hover ! If you are serious try and pick up a S/H TREX 450 !

Yes, everything is truning the way they suppose to. the gyro was flying in normal mode with my stock tx. I have it setup correct with the stock rx and tx. The only problem was sometime it glitch. So, I added the glitch nomore see by finless video. then, I got the dx6 system becuase of the glitches. I went through the setup for the tail seen on one of finless video. My only problem is, does the tail need some pitch before spin-up or does the gyro take care of that. In finless video he center the tail pitch slider.

Yes it needs a little right rudder on the tail pitch but the geometry is different on the Walkera and Align - centre slider on the Walkera gives a huge amount of right rudder so I'd set it up by eyeballing it and then getting it neutral in normal mode.

Hi Finless,
Do you know why I cannot view your beginner vids? When I click on them, they just come up as garbled words and skattered characters. I would really like to see more of what has been offered and I appreciate you putting them on this site for all to see! Thanks |

If you follow the instructions on the download page, i.e. right-click on the links and "Save Target As...", those garbled characters should be saved to a file which you can then play.

Yes his browsers MIME type is messed up and does not understand what a AVI file is. This usually means that Window Media Player is NOT installed.

Mercuriell, I got the tail servo to center. I test it on a lazy sasan today. The tail after adding right rudder I think it cripping back to that side. I'm going to look at Finless video again to see how to stop the crippng. And it have some wag in the tail. Thanks for all the help. |

Pitch/Throttle curves for Trex 600L and DX7
Hello, Finless, were the pitch and throttle curves shown in the DX7 set-up video good for the TREX 600L?? Are these these the best numbers to use for the 600L? All the video's are great!!! A real help for folks trying to get started flying a heli.
Thanks Joe |

Yes should get you real close and if you want more head speed bump them up.
I trun 100% flat in idle 2, 90% flat in ilde 1, and 0, 60, 80,90,100 in normal. Bob

Hey finless, thanks for all those helpful vids you posted! They really help. I am wondering if you know anything about the Art-Tech gyro and if not... could you tell me if/how most gyros can be reset. Mine is starting to wag my tail when I make snapy with the tail rotor and I usually have to either add more power, cautiously, or set the bird and wait a second.
Thanks |

Finless, what is the delay, and revo settings for on my radio? I've only ever flown electric helis and don't know what any of the functions are for other than the baics for regular flight.
thanks for your help in advance |

Huh? Not sure what you asking or arguing? I read the post and it sounds like your agreeing a swash leveler is a waste of time? If so I agree
